HGH . . . fountain of youth?
When I was younger I always thought, hey . . . when I get older I'll just start using HGH (human growth hormone) to reverse or slow down the aging process.
Well, I'm older (41), and am starting to take notice of the extra effort it takes to stay in shape, having to watch what I eat, and the lines around the eyes from the years in the sun are starting to show. I've done a little research, but I would like to hear anyones experiences or ideas regarding HGH. I hear there are several types. So if you can identify whether the information you have is injectible or pill form that would be appreciated.

I'm 20 years older than you. I could afford to shed a few years, but I'm leary of putting something in my body to accomplish it, plus I understand it's damned expensive.

This should be interesting. I always thought it was to help short or small kids catch-up to the rest.
Here's what this guy has to say: http://iol.co.za/index.php?click_id=29&art_id=qw1085654161523B265&set_id=1

I don't trust any of that "life in a bottle" crap. Too many "health products" are shown to be dangerous once the long term research is in. I'm willing to bet that a couple carrots a day is safer and more effective. That said, I know nothing about HGH. If it's anything like the BGH given to dairy cows I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. And yes I see the irony in us not being cows. :P

Lynn, I too am hyper allergic to poison oak and ivy and have a standing prescription for the steroid dose pac. It does all you say it does, but it also makes me a very angry person. My wife wishes I would just leave the house after a couple of days of me on the dose pack.

There are barely legal alternatives to HGH, they are synthetic. I cannot recall the actual name. Moses should know alot about this. HGH can be dangerous, but generally only when WAY over done. No I have not used it or sterioids but many close to me have done both. I can tell you that they work, I can also tell you that it's not worth it IMHO. HGH does seem to be relatively safe in comparison to roids. If you don't stay on the "juice" you shrink, and mentally you feel worthless(both energy and depression) also, your idea of what kind of shape you should be in keeps going up so it's a never ending battle. Also there are MANY different steroids out there, I wonder what one docs prescribe people? Again, not my personal experience, but I've seen it with people close to me, it's really a sad cycle. I know just enough about this to be dangereous, so ignore everything I just typed

Paul, you already live in Newport Beach so you enjoy twice as much life in the same number of years as the rest of us - what more do you want
![]() I get into some stuff called Manchurian mushroom juice. It's got all sorts of far fetched claims like cures cancer, reduces grey hair... (I might put some in the oil of the SC). But what I think it is, is it's a VERY good blood purifier, that puts you in a great frame of mind, some spring in your step, and makes you horny as hell. If curious, do a search on the internet and some hippies at a health food shop will know who has one to give to you. |

HGH is a steroid hormone. It is under tight regulation by the pituitary. Overproduction after puberty can cause acromegally. In smaller doses, it makes you feel great. More energy, stamina and strength. All this benefit comes at a price. You can down regulate your pituitary so that when you stop using HGH, you can't make your own any more. Big problem. Feel like crap for a long long time.
There is no fountain of youth (yet). Stay fit, eat well, enjoy your good health and don't waste your forties wishing you were twenty.

Isn't cancer defined as uncontrolled cellular growth? It's seems rational that when a raw drug pumps up one organ into overdrive another will eventually fail trying to keep up.
Not scholared on the subject, but I thought the rat studies showed that the more calories they ate the faster the cells oxydized, and the sooner they reached the pre-programed divisional limit. Does HGH speed up division or longevity? If I was going to schedule a diet regiment of HGH on a regular basis, I'd probably take 1/10th the recommended dose, start off irregularly, and drop it occasionally for a month and compare. Even then it's probably good to get bloodwork done a couple times a year...providing the medical plan will cover it.

Thanks for your thoughts.
The on / off dosage is exactly what is prescribed from my research. On for 6-8 weeks, then off for 4-6 weeks. I'm not trying to beef up, and am very active. I paddle outriggers in the open ocean for about 30 miles a week, jog about 10 miles a week and still lift the occational weight. I'm just curious if there is anything that aids in replenishing the strength, endurance and rejuvinating homones the slowly deline as the body ages. Without, of course, adverse side effects. Then again, I do live in Newport Beach so my perception on reality may be slightly jaded.

Is it legal to just take this stuff? In addition to being under tight regualtion by the pituitary gland, isnt it also regulated as a controlled substance? IIRC, they didnt have any at GNC last month on Gold Card day

IGFR3LONG is the name of the "barely legal stuff", the way it was explained to me is that it is even more powerful than HGH. Do some research on the above. HGH must be prescibed, this for now is open. I know nothing about the safety or whatever. DYODD

Human Growth Hormone is the real Deal. The stuff is awesome and it truly is the fountain of youth. No it is not an anabolic steroid. I would not worry about suppressing your own natural production because by the time you are 30 you release next to none and by the time you are forty your body releases none. Yes it is very expensive, yes there are some side effects but relatively few. HGH lowers your insulin sensitivity thus the reason why many take small amounts of insulin with there GH, insulin used in this manner is truly a very anabolic compound, more powerful then anabolic steroids, but if used incorrectly will make you fat. I recommend taking ala with your hGH to help maintain slin sensitivity. HGH can also lower thyroid levels, this is why many also take T3 (cytomel) with there HGH. Excessive dosage can lead to carpul tunnel syndrome. Do not use HGH if you have Hypoglycemic or diabetes is in your family. Any form of oral hGH that you might come across is garbage and completely inert. I would avoid those new drugs out or IGF-1 (if you can find it). If you’re going to use it from my experience and that of many of my friends I wouldn’t use it for less then several months straight. Dosages vary but for men 4-6iu/day seems to do the job. There is a few different ways to do it. Some people like to split it up and take it twice a day as hGH has a half life of only 2 hours. The effects of hGH on your skins elasticity is incredible, as well it will lower body fat levels and cause you to grow more muscle tissue. Anabolic/Androgenic Steroids do not have the ability to grow new muscle tissue. Also hGH has an amazing ability to help you recuperate from your injuries. Unfortunately most doctors are pretty unknowledgeable about hGH, Anabolic/Androgenic Steroids, ect because they very rarely deal with these products in there day to day practice. From my interviews the doctors were very unknowledgeable but they are needed to help give you blood test.
It truly is the fountain of youth I hope I’ve been of some help |
