having grown up in San Diego in the late 60's/70's, I think this film will bring a tear to my eye *sniff*. Visuals of the hometown along with 70's tunes...and Steve Carell and Fred Willard to boot.

Looks funny. Wasn't upset to see the women come though - kind of had a thing for Carol LeBeau and Bree Walker 20 years and 2,000 miles ago.....

I think it is loosely based on Harold Greene, who was the big-cheese anchor in SD in the 70s. He finally "made the big time" and went up to LA (where he remains). But he had the mustache, and notice the "colorful" last name.
