German Lawnmower

I moved my Craftsman 6hp mower onto the covered patio because it began to rain. The reason this is necessary is because if it sits in the rain, the air cleaner gets soaked. Now, it strikes me as obvious that a German lawn mower would not suffer from this problem. In fact, I would expect a German lawnmower to be simple, reliable and a pleasure to use. Is there such a thing?

Yes, Jim, here it is...... (and not just "German", but Porsche!)

You'll note the lawnmowing attachment is an option, but it *is* a diesel, air-cooled, and has way more HP than that puny 'ol Craftsman you have now.
Be the envy of all on your block....
Own a Porsche car *and* tractor!

Try a K&N air filter for that mower... it will let even more water in, but it will also increase the 6hp to about 8hp.

Sonic, don't you mean "increase" the 6hp to 5hp, but louder so it sounds like 8hp?

Pretty sure they're Swedish. But god knows where the parts are made or where they're assembled.

Actually, that's none other than Steve Timmins on the tractor; I lifted the pic from http://www.instant-g.com

Yep, Husqvarna's are from Sweden. Stihls are from Germany. Those are, hands down, the two most popular chain saws in my hometown, a logging community. Number 1 is Stihl, of course.

Get a Honda. Mowing grass and maintaining lawn equipment is not a labor of love.
