No Credible Evidence

widebody911 06-16-2004 06:24 AM

Lies! Leftist propaganda, just like that whole 'round earth' nonsense and that BS about the earth rotating around the sun.

Really . . .The panel investigating the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks found that there was "no credible evidence that Iraq and al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States,"

Wow, I expected them to find some evidence that there was a link. . . . I mean that was their job; right?

Just how much are they spending to tell us nothing new? What a scam.

techweenie 06-16-2004 07:50 AM

"Just how much are they spending to tell us nothing new? What a scam."

So what you're saying is that you knew it was just another Bush lie all along?

You have a pretty low standard for government performance, I guess.

So what was there about the Iraq situation that was worth all the lives lost?

Superman 06-16-2004 08:00 AM

techweenie, there is another possible meaning behind Island's sarcasm. Sure, maybe he knew Bush lied. Or maybe there is a feeling that information regarding the 9/11 attacks is not important. Not worth the cost of gubmint to find out.

I find that notion so disturbing, I'd hate to attribute it even to the most knee-jerk of neocons.

That would mean they'd rather throw $300 billion and 8XX American lives at a situation than analyze it up front.

Wow! Well if it cost a lot it must be good.

My point was, "no credible evidence that Iraq and al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States," was EXACTLY what we were being told before this "news".

Even Bush was only floating it as a "Maybe" . . .ie some evidence. . ..as opposed to "credible evidence." (note also: "credible" is a very subjective term.)

ubiquity0 06-16-2004 10:24 AM

But Mulholland said that there was cooperation, and he's my idea of a reliable source.

Superman 06-16-2004 10:24 AM

I'm dizzy.

island911 06-16-2004 10:32 AM

We've noticed :p

Bush said all along there was credible evidence. Tenet called it a "slam dunk." And if that wasn't enough, Rumsfeld started his own little CIA within the DOD to investigate Iraq and its WMD, and came away even more convinced of the threat stanchioned inside the country.

Bush never said "might be." He never qualified at the outset that there was a possibility of WMDs; he said they were there.

We all know the White House is arrogant, short-sighted and ignorantly resolved, but I don't think even they are amiss enough to risk Int'l credibility and soldiers' lives on openly empirical and pejorative justification akin to "...they're bad. We think maybe they have WMDs."

island911 06-16-2004 10:56 AM

whoa whoa whoa . . .WMD?. . . now I understand supers "dizzy" comment.

You guys are confusing "saddam/alqaida" with "saddam/WMD".

Put on that thinking cap.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/loki7.gif

kach22i 06-16-2004 11:29 AM

1. Iraq HAD WMD, we sold them to him, USA, France, Germany, Russia the list goes on and on like the little engerizer bunny.

2. The expriation date elasped on the anthax, the other stuff was destroyed following UN supervision.

3. Perhaps barrels in small truck loads made it's way over to Syria....still no proof/evidence.

4. Saddam lied about his capablities/weapons, puffed himself up to look like a mid-east bada$$ standing up the Jew loving West (his attitude not mine).

5. We were had, time to go home. Last one out of Iraq please shut the lights off.

Now, now...

The Vatican did apolocize to Galileo, albeit 400 years late. But, OTOH, our president, in a meeting with officials there said that not all the American Bishops were behind him (the President) in his fight against stem cell research and other "religious" topics. I wonder what other American President has attempted to enlist the Vatican in a re-election campaign?

No communion for me, I guess........

God created faith, Man established religion.

araine901 06-16-2004 08:54 PM

cooperation is not cordenation. They did not coment on ties only that Iraq did not coredenate with OBL in this. I think you will find that just like newsweek pointed out in '99 that they did have ties.
