Lynn, Nice rigs!! We've seen the 356 before, but that camper looks really clean. I've owned several VW busses myself, drove them across this beautiful land that we all love and love to argue about, ;) , that's what makes America great, IMO. That and elections.
Mullholand (Jason) is a really nice guy who would give you the shirt off his back, believe it or not, (except that it would say "Bush/Cheney" on it), :D , cars are a great equaliser and common point for most guys. HAve a great day! |
That '55 is fantastic! Those babies just don't survive her in Michigan like they do out west. Mine is actually from Cali.

'Positive campaign'?
Is that something only Democrats are required to pledge? Bush/Cheney just wrapped up spending $85,000,000 in anti-Kerry ads. Funny thing is, they apparently were ineffective. |

The negative ads were not ineffective. I am not a big fan of them, but they serve a purpose. The general public has NO idea who Kerry is and team Bush took the initiative on educating them:) I do think you will see less and less of this as it goes on though. This is nothing new, such is campaign life. These ads annoy the politically savy, but they do serve a purpose.

I mean, what the *&^% are you people smoking...It has been relentless personal attacks on Bush since 2000...Bush responds and HE IS THE ONE GOING NEGATIVE?....You people are warped. |

Love ya man...I'll be praying for you today. Praise Jesus (or else). SmileWavy |
Perhaps we have a different idea of what negative means. A negative ad to me is one that shows your opponents faults. Bush has run plenty of these. Though they are factual, they are classified as negative. Bush the man has never said anything negative to my knowledge. Kerry on the other hand has spewed plenty of bile both during and after the primaries. I.E. Bush being AWOL and the like. Yes there is a difference.

Lynn and Len seem to have copped some good mutual respect and appreciation, and I'm not just talking about camper vans. Good for you guys. The two of you could probably chat for days about cars and stuff, and I'd probably enjoy being there myself. Quite a bit of common ground on the political front as well, but some substantial differences. Hey, it's a democracy.
but the only evidence I have that might indicate I could tolerate being in a room with Mul is that Denis said so. As much as I like Denis, I'd have to consider that to be thin evidence. I am sure that the @ssholes who cut folks off on the freeway, and pretend to be confused about the HOV lane, and other antisocial behavior, seem like really sweet people when they say "excuse me" at the grocery store. But once they are back behind the wheel, another aspect of their personality comes to the surface. If Mul seems like a nice guy in person, his Internet personna must be RADICALLY different from his personal presentation. And his opinion of people like me has been made crystal clear. Apparently, I am his enemy. I hope to never be in the same state with Mul, let alone the same room. Especially if he has this Dr. Jeckyl/My Hyde thing going on. I prefer honest, candid people who have the guts to be the same person whether they are at a cocktail party or chatting on the Internet. You guys can keep your cowards and your two-faced blowhards. Did I say that with compassion and sensitivity? Oops. |
Kerry has gone WAAAAAAY too soft on Bush, everyone gives Bush a pass like he's a retarded child or something. Al Franken was right; the media just goes easy on him when he says something untrue because it's not a *lie*, "he just doesn't know". :D
Still, negative campaigning sucks, it pollutes the discourse and really is not effective in changing minds for the most part. Karl Rove, in the name of Bush, is the dirtiest, most dishonest and unfair POS ever to play the game of politics. Makes Nixon's goons look like choir boys. |
