anyone know about water well systems?
I have my own well and septic, and am experiencing some weird stuff. There is a ton of air/gas in the system. It use to "burp" every now and again, but the last couple days have been insane! It coughes and sptutters all the time. When the toilets fill it gets the "chunk chunk" thing going and you can hear the pipes rattling. Is my well going dry? The pressure tank is about two years old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Len,
Its possible that you have dissolved gases that naturally occur in your water but it is more likely you have an air leak on the suction side of your pump which is pulling air into your system. Do you only have the in-well pump? Can you post some more details about your system? Troy |
Yes it is just the in well pump. Maybe I have a crack outside somewhere? The pump is right outside my garage it then goes into my basement where it is regulated for pressure, then fills the bladder tank(relatively new) and I checked that the tank had preload pressure, though I did not measure it. Thanks!

Ah the joys of well ownership!

Those bubbles are the natural gas given off by warter found in Michigan.
I get that too every time I go thru there in the motorhome and have to fill the water system. |
