Peoples History of the United States, by Howard Zinn. Regardless of one's political leanings, it's good to add this to yr general knowledge, discounted or not.

Not so much reading lately.

Books 4-6 of the Patrick O'Brien series (the basis for the "Master and Commander" movie).

Several fly fishing books, including by John Gierach ("Flyfishing Small Streams") and Leonard Wright ("Fishing the Dry Fly as a Living Insect").

Various random paperbacks found at the summer camp where we took our kids in June: Philip Caputo ("A Rumour of War"), Tom Clancy ("Red October"), Isaac Asimov ("I, Robot").

Under the Banner of Heaven. Jon Krakauer (guy that wrote Into Thin Air and Into the Wild).

My Pet Goat. But it took ME less than 7 minutes to finish it.

Also read the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown

Caddy for Life by Bruce Edwards w/John Feinstien. Great book about a decent guy who was stricken with ALS. I like Tom Watson a lot more after reading this book. Modern day caddies owe everything to Bruce Edwards.

Bias by Bernard Goldberg. Dan Rather takes a beating and is portrayed (accurately) as a vindictive dictator who is slowly losing his audience and his mind.
