That's right. Over 40 percent of Iraq is still enamored with him. The Sunni love the man. The free elections that the U.S. has touted will come up in (I think) January. Wouldn't it be ironic if Saddam's on the ballot? Didn't this happen with Papa Doc - once ousted then brought back?

If they don't do away with him first, he might get a chance to work his "slithering" charm once again.

Is it possible?

DD, did you not see my reply to your previous post? Please show your source for the 40% remark. Ofcourse Sadaam will not be on the ballot. Whether or not he is executed is a 90-10 in favor IMHO.

IMO if he is not executed - or happens to be sprung from captivity (which is a reasonable possibility) - he will shortly thereafter be assassinated. Exactly when and by whom are the only questions.
