I didn't touch a B-17 today, but I did at an airshow about 15 years ago.

Does a crashed B-23 from 1943 count?

Picture taken July 9th, last Friday. Talk about some nice timing for this thread!

Where's the picture?

Sheared left wing, and the tree that took it off, 61 years ago, standing broken in the background.

Here is the link to a good site that provides some of the details of this crash. Excellent read.

We road our dirt bikes in to within a 1/2 mile of this debris, and hiked the rest of the way around the lake. It is at least five miles to the lake. We "opted" for the scenic alternate 10 mile ride on the cycles. Excellent riding in that area.:D
