how to find out if a car is stolen?
 

Does anyone know of a way to find out if a car is stolen? Is there a VIN/plate registry where you can punch in a number and see if the car is stolen?
im thinking about buying this POS thats around the corner for a second car but id like to make sure its not stolen. :)

simply have the selling party go to the DOL (or your equivalent) with you when making the title transfer before you exchange money and if there is any problem, the seller will probably drop out really quickly ;)
