Yep, component video is where it's at. S-video is 80's technology, though still very good.

I just recently bought a pretty good s-video cable to connect my dvd player to my sony wega and I was blown away after using regular rca-style single video cable. They are both very capable methods of video transfer, as long as you get decent cable. I like ultralink cable, but there is lots of good stuff out there.

Component hands down. The color separation is superior.
