Speeding Ticket

Daughter got a speeding ticket for 81 in a 65 zone on the interstate ythis morning by the NM state police. She said she was only doing about 70 and the radar detector never went off. It has never failed to warn me. She was in a brand new sports car (temp tag still) full of pretty college cheerleaders in skimpy uniforms on their way to teach a cheer camp when she was stopped. I would have thought that alone would keep it down to a warning. Wuz up wit dat?

Mulholland 07-16-2004 10:05 PM

Were they wearing panties?....Just asking.

fintstone 07-16-2004 10:12 PM

I imagine so since they were on their way to teach high school girls and their coaches......come on Mul, don't be an arse.

singpilot 07-17-2004 08:04 AM

Was it a female officer?

on-ramp 07-17-2004 08:06 AM

hhmm, gives me an idea, next time i ram the throttle in my 911, i'll make sure it's full of pretty college cheerleaders in skimpy uniforms..that may help keep it down to a warning.

fintstone 07-17-2004 08:09 AM

No, that was my first thought too. A guy in his 30s or early 40s by all accounts....If 18-25 year old women can judge that. I quote "you know, old!...maybe late 30s".....LOL

You must drive a POS if you have to "ram down your throttle" to go 5 mph over the limit (70). Of course you wouldn't mind getting a ticket for going 10 mph more than your actual speed by a cop that never turned on his radar, now would you? I guess you liberals just ultimately believe in wealth redistribution regardless of whether it is fair or honest. Thank God your side does not run this country!
Besides, you would need to tie a porkchop around your neck to get a mutt to ride with you, much less one of these nice girls.

fintstone 07-17-2004 08:32 AM

Just what exactly did you have to do for the "nice policeman" to only get a warning ticket back in Feb? Maybe no panties under your short skirt...like Mul's post insinuates? Must be nice to be special!

SHould I be worried....after how many warnings do you get a speeding ticket. caught 45 in a 30. thanks.

this is ironic since yesterday i finished installing new brake pads...got a warning for not using them, haha

vash 07-19-2004 07:27 PM

stoney, if i saw a car load of cheerleaders drive by, i would probably stop them just for the look! if it makes her feel any better, i got one on the wed, before her. vertially the same speed over the limit. damn it! oh well, no way the panty trick would have worked for me, not even in san francisco.

cliff,
see her in driving school?

CamB 07-19-2004 07:35 PM

Seriously - do you think she really was doing 70, etc? She might be lying.

If not, then I think the internet is full of sites about how to avoid speeding tickets. In fact, there have been a few threads here about it too.

techweenie 07-19-2004 07:39 PM

I think to help you figure this out, we might need photographs.

it could have been an "instant on" blast with a distracted driver ?

fintstone 07-19-2004 08:21 PM

No Cam, she doesn't lie.
Tech, I don't have a pix of her 2004 IS-300, but here is a pix of her 2003 from last year...it looks exactly the same..color, model, etc:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1090297171.jpg

CJFusco 07-19-2004 08:30 PM

we want more pics!

island911 07-19-2004 08:34 PM

Well, from what I've seen, the cop break for "pretty college cheerleaders in skimpy uniforms" is only a trend; not a rule.

Just take a look at some of the women bashing threads here. I imagine there are plenty of cops with hottie g/f's or wives. . . but are Really sick of their *****.

. . or, the doughnut eating, lard-ass, pimpled faced cop, with bad breath knows that any woman with a pulse is sooo far out of his league. . .

I dunno. . .maybe her 'tude. . . she's already pissed me off today, by making me feel old. :(

heh-heh.:D

fintstone 07-19-2004 08:50 PM

Dang Island!!!!...It was a rule where I grew up! What is this world coming to?

Schrup 07-19-2004 08:54 PM

I had a friend pulled over this weekend on the freeway by a WSP for racing. A Mustang club flew by him & the tail guy kept slowing down & speeding up to try & get him to race. He never went over 60. My friends 72 911 sporadically globs oil on his exchangers & the cop thought it was tire smoke. The cop went ballistic & told my friend that he was going to jail. What the cop didn't know was that my friend’s passenger was a State supervisor of safety directly in his chain of command. After my friends story matched the guy's story in the Cobra that was egging him on he had to let him go, but the Stater is going to be facing some disciplinary action this week. :D I hate cops that abuse there authority.

fintstone 07-19-2004 08:54 PM

I was just looking at the ticket...hard to read. For speed, in the ones column he had written a 5 and then changed it to a 1. he also marked the box indicating that she was a male. She was not appreciative of that.

That's it. . . he thought they were guys of to a drag party.

Times have changed.

Fortunately there are still guys like Mul, willing to help a pretty girl out, in distress . . or out of a skimpy-dress. . .or. ..

that may be enough to toss the ticket.. pay a lawyer to do the deed.

fintstone 07-19-2004 09:02 PM

You know, I would have Mul..she might have liked you since you are a conservative...but you blew it in you first post on this thread. Too bad.

CamB 07-19-2004 09:07 PM

Likes conservatives eh? Rules me out then. That, being married already and the several thousand km between us.

I agree with Ron - a couple of screwups on the ticket is, apparently, a good start to getting off it. If its important (matter of principle? does it mar the driving record? how many bucks?).

fintstone 07-19-2004 09:13 PM

Cam
Not trying to marry her off just yet. Maybe after she finishes medical school and gets a good job.

It is the principle...It is for $150...but it will increase the insurance a great deal.

:D

I appreciate you even more now fint...I probably wouldn't have been so delicate if somebody said something like I did...But know, it was just for giggles.

(No, I am not trying to re-ingratiate)

fintstone 07-19-2004 09:35 PM

Fair enough Mul. Just remember that even attractive young women have fathers....

That's a puzzler. Maybe it was a reaction to the new car (jealousy). Maybe it was the right-wing bumper sticker (the Mul conspiracy theory).

I think you have some traction with the changed ticket.

BTW, if you're looking for another '04 IS300, I have a friend selling one to get a Porsche!

with gun collections..LOL

fintstone 07-19-2004 09:48 PM

Tech..the one she has is only a week old. Got the dealer to replace the 03. After the 10k service (oil change), they suddenly discovered the crank bearings had gone bad and it needed a new engine (under warranty). I suspect they forgot to replace the oil before they ran it. I was able to negotiate a pretty sweet deal for a replacement 2004.

She already had Porsche a few years ago...she gave me her '74 (after I promised not to sell it) because it was a bit too difficult to drive (before my new engine) and had no A/C. She wanted a Boxter S, but had to settle for the Lexus.

but maybe you'll tickle the exotic streak in 'em imo? Actually, the whole package is relatively exotic. Do you surf or climb mts in a relatively exotic, to a US breather, country? Offer 'em that you'll be available for at least a tour after you see who your dealing with. Oh yeah, any green eyed blondes that are friends of pelicanheads in the US is a friend of yours out in the exotic western Pacific, huh?
btw, ever meet any head hunters from those islands?

Laser rather than radar? Those only need to be on for 3 seconds to get a lock, and would not be detected by a radar detector. Maybe the cop had a radar detector detector LOL.

I agree more pics would help the situation greatly, even though I'm also a father of two girls. ;)

Well if she's been dating only conservatives, then she certainly has a pleasant surprize waiting for her.

Doesn't mean anything more than he made a mistake when he first wrote the ticket. Happens all the time. Not enough to get the ticket dismissed. Just call up the prosecutor for the county the ticket was written in and ask to have the ticket amended to a "non-moving violation" or a "defective equipment violation." They might go for it. Of course they will probably jack up the fine, but you are looking at keeping your daughter's insurance down.

Nah, he marked on the ticket that he was using radar, besides my detector is a laser detector too. It might be too late to react to instant-on, but it would certainly alarm.

Nah she only dates smart guys. She knows that anyone fooled by liberal propaganda is dumber than a box of rocks.
