Need a wider sampling, body temp.

I was discussing this with a group of friends and it appears I am strange, naw

Anyway this is an odd question.

When you go to bed, do you get very hot? I mean when I lay in bed if I don't fall asleep in 10-20 mins I feel like the covers are an electric blanket! I get so uncomfortable that I have to take a shower or go outside for a while(I even keep ice pacs in the freezer for bad nights) and cool off in order to be comfy again when I lay in bed. My buddies claim I'm a freak, but I'll bet this is more common than they think. I set my AC to 69* AND I have a fan blowing on me to no help. Now here is the kicker, when I wake up I am cold, real cold. I once tracked my temp in the mornings for over a week and I was at like 92* or so(I think I even saw high 80's, but it was a while ago) but would rise quickly to normal in 30 mins or less. Is this weird or normal? My wife did the test with me (she does not get hot at night or cold in the morning) and her BT was normal right away. I had a nurse tell me this was not terribly abnormal? So, two questions,

1. Do you get uncomfortably warm in bed on a regular basis?

2. Have any of you ever taken your temp right when you wake up and what was it?

I know, extremely strange questions, but HEY no politics!

I believe your body temperature goes up as the day goes on. At least with my daughter and I. This is normal.

Do you perspire? That's (obviously) how your body rids itself of excess heat. Are you getting enough liquids?

I like to sleep in temps approaching that of a freezer. LOL. I like it cold.

I don't sweat in bed really, and even when I feel crazy hot(not that kind) and I touch my wifes leg or something she feels like 900* or something though she says she is comfortable? It's weird.

Len,

Maybe you shouldn't read the OT forum before going to bed. That is sure to raise your temperature.

I do notice that I generally feel warm when I go to bed and sleep on top of the sheets, but in the morning I am under the sheets. Never measured my temp though.

Make sure your estate is in order . . . Also, based upon my medical training and experience, your symptoms are not normal and you should see a doctor for a blood tests, if there is still time.

Yes but fading fast

I had a complete blood test done a couple years ago when I did my "test" I'll see if I can dig it up. Perhaps it will hold the key to how much time I have left

By the way, the extent of my medical training and experience consists of reading Moses' posts.

FWIW, When my daughter is sleeping her skin feels as hot as coals. I think this is normal for the little ones.

I found it, hillarious. I can't find jack normally but this was in my briefcase way in the back. Anyway, Thyroid info is.

TEST ------------RESULT----------UNITS------------RANGE

T4, TOTAL---------8.4-------------UG/DL-----------4.2 - 10.5
TSH----------------0.84-----------MIU/ML-----------0.40 -5.50
T3, TOTAL--------141.6-----------NG/DL------------60 - 181

Somewhat greek to me, but it appears my T3 and T4 are OK, but my thyroid stimulating hormone count is on the low side. This is from 3 years ago, but I've been this way forever, so.

So tell me, how long have I got

I've got the same overheating issue. I don't understand how, lying stock still in bed I can wake up and be burning up. I tend to get to sleep (w/ a/c and fan) not under the covers and sometime during the night, bundle all up.

Then again, I'm always warm. I told my brother this weekend (who is an MD) that he and I would make our billions by inventing a drug which you take to lower your body temp. a couple of degrees. I'm going to call it the "Chill Pill."

If you find a solution before I go to market, lemme know.
