Would you go back in time?

Reading the thread about movie cars and the "Back to the Future" Delorean got me thinking. How many of you would go back in time and relive your life from that point in time? You can't go back and forth and you have the knowledge you have now.

What point in time would that be? How different do you think your life would be?

I think I may go back to my freshman year in college and really apply myself. I was just too lazy back then and I have always regretted it. A couple of Master's degrees since and I still wonder what could have been...

I don't have the stamina to do it all over again. Lots and lots of work.

I wouldn't want to imagine my life without my wife and three kids.

Would I like to go back for a week or so at a time? Play that high school football game all over again? All that free time? Tempting, but no thanks.

How about go back and live in a different time period. I think it would have been cool to be in my 20's-30's in starting around 1955. See the grand prix type racing scene starting up in the U.S. I just think it was all around cooler to be an adult back then.

maybe, i would go back if i could just float around as a ghost, just a spectator. i am such a busy body, i would mess everything up. hate to see me at pearl harbor, "uhhhh? look up guys!" or i would tell kennedy to "duck!" and i would get way to greedy with lotto winnings. or stock investments. but as a ghost, i could see dinosaurs, find out once and for all if jesus was "the man". or hell even if noah was a boat builder. and maybe get some people skills from attilla.

sure i might go back. would be nicer to women that i did not realize i cared so much for until they were gone.

it would be too easy though knowing what i know now.

dont F with that knife after carving pumpkins and having slimy hands. dont F her without birthcontrol, or i might have a baby in highschool.
dont skip second period to go get high again.
dont take that job because you will end up Fing the boss lady that was 27 and 10 years older than you and she would ruin you.

see all those things i learned from those episodes could not have been learned by just hearing or knowing about them, my dumb ace had to live them to learn.

Probably not. I'd certainly NOT go back as far as puberty. That was rough. But it'd be fun to do my twenties again. Still, like Moses, I'm tired.

k911sc, tell us about your boss.

I think I would go back and be less selfish. Not being married or having children makes it a bit easier to contemplate.

I read a book with this as the main plot. I think it was called 'Replay'. A guy has a heart attack in his office when he's 45 and wakes up in his college dorm at 18 having to relive his life over again. It ends up happening several times so he has the opportunity to follow several different paths for his life. Quite interesting.

I wouldn't mind starting over from my teens again but only if I could know what I know now. Otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. I'd just be the same dumbass

I'd go back to 1994, convince my wife to elope, and take the money we spent on our wedding and honeymoon and buy Qualcomm stock. We be retired right now living in Rancho Santa Fe worried if the sun was too intense for our Kentia palm trees.

Other than the money thing - not much else I would change with my life. Although... there was this girl in H.S. that I found very very hot but I was too shy to approach her. Only later in life did I learn she was dropping hints that were completely missed by me. Image that!

If I could go back, I'd be much more serious about math.

One of my favorite daydreams. Go back in time as a ghost and watch Jesus, Lincoln, Washington, Hitler, Caesar, the Pharoahs. Wow.

i got some dumb highschool job when i was 16 or 17 and this older (at the time) lady was the manager. one other guy and i worked with about 15 other highschool (it was a joint called paradise bakery) sweetys, and this manager lady loved the whole scene. you know the gossip and such, i guess her husband was not attentive at home. well she was always keen on me and we always would flirt and rub up against one another when passing in the store room or what have you.

well not to sound like a penthouse forum letter or anything one late night her and i were closing, after a few beers from tater junction (they had a liquior license and i would buy beers on friday nights from a buddy that worked there) her and i ended up all necked on some big bulk bags of baking supplys. she actually looked pretty good out of the tiny bopper favored uniforms, she seemed a bit heavy in the uni. we went on like this another 3 or 4 times, even at her house once for an over nighter while her husband was out of town.

well her desire to relive her school days by creating drama she told another girl that worked there. it was suspected all along and the S hit the fan. word got back to my girlfriend, who in turn told my parents about me taking out my pops ninja and 69 camero when they would go out of town. pops woopped up on my ace, she got fired, charges were filed and later dropped for statutory rape but i was so close to 18 they let it go. her husband filed for divorce, not before scaring the S out of me in a couple phonce calls, and waiting for me after work at another (next) job and telling me he was goning to kill me.

my buddys thought it was killer, the girls at my school thought i was gross. that lead to the cheerleader types steering way clear of me from then on out.

long story short? dont F your boss, if shes married, lacking attention at home, and your girlfriend knows your closet's skeltons and is hotter. .

Reaad a short story. It was written by Nathanial Hawthorne. Has to do with an eldely Doctor and a formula he devises that, while not travelling "in time", returns for a brief period, youth to some of his old friends.

Be careful what you ask for.

Would I want to go back, knowing the future? No. Would I want to go back NOT knowing the future? Absolutely not.

Imagine changing one small thing and imagine the ripples...

I would love to go back and live highschool again -- with the knowledge that I have now.
