Republican convention, inside info?
Has anyone gone to one of these? I've done the Michigan convention, and am considering the big daddy in Gotham
 I am pretty sure I could get limited credentials, but is it worth it to go without? Basically, I'm just looking for some first hand experience.

Sure, get tickets to the show. That's about all a modern pol convention is anyway since the nominee has generally already been decided beforehand. The modern convention is basically a long campaign ad, doesn't matter what party.

The Michigan convention was basically a party. I had a booth there for my site, and had some really good conversations and made alot of contacts. Met Jean Benet Ramsey's parents, the old man is running for congress(or wants to) kind of a weird situaution. Anyway, if it's like that only bigger and grander I imagine it would be a good time. Just wondering if anyone has gone.

My brother is an aide to a Republican congressman and went to the last one in Philly. According to him, tickets (to the meaningful events and speeches) are hard to come by, and admission to the parties - where most of the real action takes place - are nearly impossible unless you know someone in the Party.
He sez it's kinda like the Oscars, once you're there you find out who's throwing the best party and head over there. The goofiness on the hall floor is just that, goofiness.

I've been to some local Republican events, booooring. I've got a friend who used to be a demo activist (before he woke up). He said booze was free & he got laid at EVERY event. IMHO go to the dems.

I've been to many. Some are snoozers. You have to go to the bigger events. Big parties great food and drink. Stay away from things like Lincoln Day dinners

How can we compare with "got laid at every event?" Hell at the Rep events I've been to you're lucky to see a girl you'd like to get laid BY at an event! No wonder Clinton was a democrat!
