Come on Wayne - UPS & Fedex Suck for us poor Canadians

I'm posting this on the OT board - but it's really an invite to Wayne to speak to this issue on the Canadian board...

Apparently Pelican has a new policy against using USPS on shipments to Canada.

You can add my negative feedback to this new policy Wayne. I probably dropped $3 grand into the Pelican coffers over the last 12 months. Some of that wouldn't have happened if USPS had not been on the menu. UPS and FEDEX are obscene at our end with their forced brokerage and upcharges. USPS, on the other hand is generally slick as crap through a Canada goose (well at least compared to the alternatives)!

Please re-visit this policy - I'd hate to have to change my shopping habits...

UPS and FedEx suck below the 48th (close enough) parallel as well. as a former retailer, I actually had better luck with USPS for on-time shipment at a lower cost. and they always delivered when they said they would

Well that's better than nothing, Wayne. I understand your need to track orders. I'll just place smaller orders - it'll still be cheaper than brokerage.

Jeremy.. it's on!

Then..

USPS says right here on their website that they offer insurance on international packages of up to $675 !!!

Come on Wayne - if I'm buying $100 or less - I might just as well slip into the local stealership as wait on the package from socal.

Change your policy or else!!!!!

(...uh, else what um, well we'll just see about that young man...)

Oh, and congrats on the new family member - be thankful that you didn't have to deal with UPS on that delivery!!!

(they are untrackable),
Are you sure? The USPS web site offers tracking information for things like Express Mail, Global Express Mail and Global Express guaranteed, and they also offer delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, certified mail and registered mail via the internet.

http://www.usps.com/

(Not affiliated with the postal service although I did cheer their bike team)

Every time I complain to the 'guy in brown' about paying $30.00 in brokerage fees, he says that I have the option to do the brokerage paperwork myself. It would probably take my lunch hour, some driving around... and I wouldn't get my stuff as quick... but it is an option, or so I am told.

Yee haw!

I'm so darned excited I could just spit!

This has no impact on me, it's just so nice to see this thread come to a happy ending for all those sweet Canadians.

(er, um... do ya think you could arrange to take Celine back now - and we'll call it square? We'll keep Jim Carrey and those other goof balls - Canada gets Celine and USPS on Pelican shipments -sounds pretty fair to me...)
