ATTEN. FiLM BUFFS: Manchurian Candidate Rocks!!
Hi All,
I'm a huge fan of 60s-70s conspiracy movies...... Parallax View 3 Days Of The Condor The Conversation..... All The President's Men I just saw Jonathan Demme's (Silence Of The Lambs) remake/update of John Frankenheimer's 1962, paranoid, cult classic "Manchurian Candidate"..........man was I impressed....I walked out of the theater feeling utterly paranoid........ In a lot of ways the political thriller has gone the way of 8track tapes......Boy was this a welcome surprise.......A+++ What did you guys think?

Got 2.5 stars in my paper, but I'm going to see it anyway. Man, the original movie was great.

I saw it on Friday night. Weird movie but good. It is really quite mysterious. I don't want to say too much without giving away the movie.

Another pseudo-political thriller that I thought was pretty good was "Spartan" with Val Kilmer. It's a Mamet movie, and moves a little slowly, but it's not full of plot holes that get covered up with giant explosions. It's just a quiet thriller.
