BTW the Directv HD Tivo's are apparently out. No idea of cost or performance but I will have my eye on one of these plus a bigscreen for xmas this year if biz goes well in coming months.

Tivo is the bomb, one of the best tech things I've bought in the last 5 years. I have three now. One for the kids, one for the wife and one for me. Make sure you get the extended warranty or service contract thru Dish if they offer it. I have Directv service, my extended warranty costs a few bucks a month, but if one of the units blow, they send a replacement via fedex, no Q's asked.
