travel agents?
ok, i have a month long trip to asia in the works. for me and my girlfriend. we want to hit a few locations, taiwan (her family, payback squatters at my house, etc), thailand, tokyo....the basics. somehow, the responsiblilty of organizing the trip, fell to me. like all test, (this is a test) i plan on cheating. who pays the travel agent? will it add a bunch of cost to my travels. i just found those asia packages offered by asian airlines where you can fly amuck for one price. but the trip planning is daunting. i dont want to blow it. seems like the internet made the travel agent extinct? there are visas, imunizations, holy crap, i got a full plate.

Cliff, travel agents get paid by the businesses they represent. They also get special deals and rates unknown to us mere mortals. I have used them several times and was very happy. I have tried to beat their deals on the internet, and either I don't know what I'm doing, or they just know their stuff.
PS. See if your doctor will prescribe you some Tetracyclene, and take it for a couple weeks before you go. Mexico ain't the only place with bad water!! |
Well, it's not that the water is necessarily 'bad'. It's that it is definately 'different', and MIGHT also be 'bad'.
More than half of the reported 'travellers diarrhia' happens when you have carefully acclimated to the other countries' water and you come back to your own 'bad-different' water at your own home, and do not take the exact same procedures for re-acclimating again. |
All the more reason to stay off the water and be obligated to taste the essences of every country's beer!!
