New C6 Corvette....sounds amazing

Hi all,

I'm a die hard P-holic, but has anyone else noticed the new C6 that's coming out? I must say that I'm very interested in the new Vette. It sounds unbelievable and worth some consideration. EVERY major car magazine has got it on the front cover.

Also, it is compared to the 911 in every article. Looks like an amazing bang for the buck, considering it's got 400 HP and is less than last year's vette model at 45K.

Anyone else seen the hype?

Regards,

Yep, it's gonna be great. Of course it has the usual 'vette shortcomings (cheap materials inside, image, etc.), but 400hp, same chassis as the previous gen but shorter and slimmer for better handling, it's gonna be a great car for $43,000.

still don't want one, though.

i'll admire it from afar, along with all the Scooby Imprezas and Mitsu Evos that I also don't want.

Except for a slight difference in the numbers, your exact post could have been posted several years ago when the C5 came out!

i sincerely doubt any decent magazine would consider the C6 a BETTER car than the 997. Faster, maybe, but better?

I'm sure they wouldn't. Without price tag, I bet the 997 is a far better vehicle, a no brainer. I'm not a 'vette fan because of their well-published shortcomings, but they do offer great performance for a reasonable price. Bet it would be a fun weekend rental.

girlfriend's father paid a good $50 grand for a "50th anniversary" Corvette C5 Convertible.

The shutlines on the trunk are uneven and it has body roll going into corners like you wouldn't believe...

...or at least, like you wouldn't be used to.

So let me get this right, the interior looks cheap compared to which Porsche? The 2002 I was in was very well finnished by any standards. One word to ponder, reliable.
