Another invasion theory

Variations on this theory have been kicking around for quite a while, yet I rarely see this discussed. Maybe 'cause it's easier to talk about apocryphal meeting of "el kayda" and Saddam.

Basically, Iraq was threatening to switch to the Euro as the currency of choice for oil purchases, instead of the dollar, which would pretty much pull the rug out from under the US economic house of cards.

Absolutely zero comment on this?

Today U.S. currency accounts for approximately two-thirds of all official exchange reserves.
I have read this kind of thing before, more than one reason to invade Iraq.

Someone told me recently (mid-eastern fellow) that Saudi's have a 100 year supply of oil, and Iraq 250 year supply. They only tell us we are running out to gather support for war.

Considering the current value of the dollar in the world...It's certainly a valid point but is it a point for war?

That's a far stretch maybe.

Interesting......

We would actually have to pay for oil..not just print up new money.....

Yeah, that's right. . .because it is imposible to buy anything priced in euro's when all you have US dollars. . . .nobody wants our stink'n money.

. ..and Saddam was going to trade his truck load of USD for a few euros.

We're not the ones dealing with price inflation.

Seriously, why do you guys want so much, to believe this crap?

It's the "Grassy Knoll" invasion theory.

Ah, but he was sitting on a rather large pot of "liquid" assets (pun intended).

I can buy this theory much better than "some guy whose brother-inlaw was in al quada went to bagdad and stayed at the holiday inn where they went to a couple of raves and mixed sarin and ecstacy in the bathtub." theory.
