Sounds reasonible. I mean he wasn't there, so he can't really say. I would not have signed it either if I had no first hand knowledge. This does not however disprove the claims of those who were there.

I don't find it odd that people who were not immediately involved are having difficulty getting their stories straight.

What percentage of your attention, when you're under fire, do you give to the maneuvers of adjacent units? Just enough.

When those actions are 35 years in the past, and the war itself has never ceased to be a festering wound, it's certainly possible that the recollections would 'bend.'

It's funny that two of the SBVfT group wouldn't bother to note that their contemporaneous reports on Kerry were glowing before trying to smear him, but I guess they know their audience all too well.

The question begs, "was he intimidated?"....It takes some serious cajones to stand up to Democrats, as they have made abundantly evident their willingness to malign, threaten and destroy anyone who dare reveal truth about them.

This man's retraction does nothing to diminish the other vets (a majority) who disdain John Kerry. John Kerry committed war attrocities. They did not. John Kerry capitalized on Vietnam. They did not. John Kerry is using purple hearts he contempted as props. They did not. John Kerry has a pattern of supporting communists. They did not. John Kerry led the pro-communist anti-war movement. They did not. John Kerry left after embarassing skin abrasions. These vets sufferred much more horrible and lasting scars, or at the very least did not cut-and-run.

Based on the evidence, who is more credible?...A man intoxicated with power, or 100s of men who have received nothing but scorn and contempt for their service in Vietnam (thanks to characters like JFKerry) and for daring to exercise their right to free-speech that they feel is factually based.

Let's never mind Kerry's soft-spot for communist dictatorships and focus on the purple hearts.

I will ask you again, what were the purple hearts exactly for, and exactly how did he suffer said injuries?

techweenie 08-06-2004 07:47 AM

Asked and answered, Mul. If you refuse to do any clicking and reading, don't blame the rest of us.

Here's where it was all covered July 16, in case you forgot.

I'll ask you again, for the fourth time..."What EXACTLY were the Purple Hearts for (what precise injuries), and what happened to create the injury."

Why doesn't Kerry release these records, like he said he would?...If what you offer is true, debate would be silenced by the release of the records...So, by deduction, one would have to conclude he has something to hide.

Yesterday, reached at his home, Elliott said he regretted signing the affidavit and said he still thinks Kerry deserved the Silver Star.
"Viet Vet Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today’s edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement, and he reaffirms his request that he ad be played." -- Boston Globe

Apparently the writer of the suspect article is writing for the Kerry/Edwards campaign.

lendaddy 08-06-2004 10:10 AM

Too funny, really that's rich. What a joke.

Mulholland 08-06-2004 10:19 AM

spankee, spankee, spankee...tsk tsk tsk

Mulholland 08-06-2004 10:31 AM

Michael Kranish is on the Boston Globe staff, also on the Kerry/Edwards payroll...conflict of interest?...nahhhhhhhhhh

I am assuming Mr. Elliot is back on the DNC sh!it list, boy he was a rising star for all of 1 fabricated minute.

I retract this, apparently it is thus far unsubstantiated.

note to liberals -- this retraction does not diminish any of the Swift Boat Veterans credibility, nor mine.
