Anyone been to Cancun MX?
Hey folks, pardon the interruption of political content but... how about some vacation advice?
When I can't think of anywhere original to go for vacation I usually default to Hawaii because I love to snorkel and I have been there so many times I know my way around pretty well. However after talking with some friends and looking around the internet for about the same money (Air+hotel package) I could go to Cancun which may be a refreshing adventure. I have never vacationed in Mexico other than day trips across the boarder and I hear that once you get that far south it's a whole different world. Okay so this is my criteria, I'm a single middle aged white guy who likes jazz so what I DON'T want in a vacation is the collage age party scene or to hang with a bunch of newlyweds/honeymooners. I would like to be as close as possible to snorkeling and if at all possible single adult women and if it is not asking too much maybe a good Latin jazz club. So anyone been there and have some recommendations? TIA Scott

i went to cancun some years ago, granted all the snorkling i did was from the beach but it sucked. more bricks in the water than fish. its exactly what you describe (for the most part) as the single college folks.
i have neen to cozemel (sp) and that is the best snoorkling ever! but that place was a bit like your other NO criteria, a couples sort of place. slow night life, but a very cool place. better that cancun imho. i would recommend cabo for the best of both worlds. great party joint with a wide range of activities. cabo rules!

Cabo Wabo?
I thought that was party central... Mexican style.

Go back to Hawaii. Get certified. Start SCUBA diving.

Well Cabo would certainly be much cheaper, is there snorkling there? I though it was mostly fishing and sunning on the beach.
After looking on the internet it apears the good snorkling is about fouty miles south. ![]()
