Inventors / Beer drinkers unite.....

What do you suppose.....they're using Peltier Junction chains to accomplish this? Too easy.

Possibly, but it seems as though it would take an inordinate number of p-devices and an awful lot of money. I have used very small peltiers to cool CCD chips for astrophotography. Where does the heat go?

The heat is pumped into your area electric grid.

Huh?

I'm trying to figure out if they came up with a new technology or just a new way to market. What else could it be? a portable electric keg wrap......Hmmm

dhoward 08-10-2004 05:52 AM

Seems like it would be a great seller in the 18-30 demographic. Too bad there wasn't anymore detail in the article....

Drunken frat boy with an electric blanket and a half empty keg = Potential Darwin Award. I'm all for it.

dhoward 08-10-2004 08:12 AM

Great.
I just spit coffee all over my keyboard...

if they drank their beer at a respectable rate, it would not be getting warm, pantywaists, this would be $20,000 in the beer fund instead!!! sipping is for wine!!

A better solution has already been developed, but maybe not patented. A fraternity brother of mine ran the CO2 pressurized keg beer through a few hundred feet of coiled stainless tubing in a cooler. If you kept ice in the cooler, the beer came out of the tap cold and non-foamy. This even worked with a hot keg. The really cool part is that the 15.5 gallon keg was hidden in the removed rear facing jump seat storage in an old station wagon and the cooler fit in the tool storage area opposite the spare tire. The tap came out of an inside panel in the car. Sure wish I'd taken pictures!

These are obviously geeks. As evidenced by the fact that they could think of this idea in the first place and the fact that it takes them that long to drink a keg that the beer goes warm.
