Yeah, I can't fathom how this SNL skit has captured so many hearts here, but nary a mention of Christopher Walken's rendition of Colonel Angus.

Or Walken in "Stalk Talk." :D

azasadny 08-09-2004 06:01 PM

Thanks! That's great!!

bell 08-09-2004 06:15 PM

i'm a big fan of will ferrel doing harry cary when he "interviewed" jeff goldblum as dr. ken wahler..........space the infinite frontier........:D
would you eat the moon if it was made of ribs?

ronin 08-09-2004 06:48 PM

that was classic! just thinking about his voice makes me laugh

also: the first skit of The Continental, and the trivial psychic. (I think that's what it was called) hilarious

CJFusco 08-09-2004 07:50 PM

if you need to find Colonel Angus, just come around to the back door.

}{arlequin 08-10-2004 08:32 AM

recently they had one about Italian "Cork Soakers" that was as funny as the Colonel.

I downloaded and watched the cowbell sketch, and I didn't think it was funny. I guess it's just me.

Me neither.

I laughed at the '...gold plated diapers' line, but honestly, I dont know why. Some of the Jeopardy stuff that got posted last week was kinda funny.

juanbenae 08-10-2004 09:42 AM

no, you're not the only one wide...

ronin 08-10-2004 09:44 AM

hint: it's only funny at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday night

nostatic 08-10-2004 11:03 AM

maybe you need to be a musician to find it really funny...

Kinda like Spinal Tap. I still almost die from laughing when watching that movie. I know it is funny for non-musicians, but for those of us that have "been there", it is a near-death experience.

Cowbell piece had moments and Spinal Tap rocks but this is the funniest thing I believe I have ever seen on television:

http://snltranscripts.jt.org/90/90ksinatra.phtml

My favorite line: Frank Sinatra says "You don't scare me. I've got chunks of guys like you in my stool!"

turbocarrera 08-10-2004 03:07 PM

There's so many good lines in Spinal Tap:

[the lastest album(Shark Sandwich) review reads..]
"This tasteless cover is a good indication of the lack of musical invention within. The musical growth of this band cannot even be charted. They are treading water in a sea of retarded sexuality and bad poetry. Shark Sandwich? more like ***** Sandwich."
Nigel Tufnel: "That's just nitpicking isn't it?"

[When asked what happened to their first drummer]
David St. Hubbins: He died in a bizarre gardening accident...
Nigel Tufnel: Authorities said... best leave it... unsolved.

[Asked to write his own epitaph]
David St. Hubbins: Here lies David St. Hubbins... and why not?

Poor phil, may he rest in peace. We men have got to watch out for them crazy bitzhes.
