Prohibited Sex Positions

Hey, as long as we're regulating peoples' behavior, why don't we write a CFR that outlines which sexual positions are okay and which are not? I don't want to cross the line here, so I'll try to be careful about specific descriptions but some positions involve the participants facing each other, and others provide for at least one participate to face away from the other. Some sexual acts can result in procreation, while others will not.

Bonus Question (worth 20 points): To those of you who support a national ban on same-sex marriage, but who would not support regulating sexual positions.....Why? Why one and not the other?

Hint: Perhaps your particular denomination helps you know where the line should be drawn.

Christianity Trivia: Did you know that catholicism is approximately twice as popular worldwide as all other ("Protestant") christian faiths combined? Think of places like South and Central Americas.

Supe -
IIRC Georgia had a law providing that sex other than by married heterosexual couples, in the missionary position was "deviant" and/or illegal. This is years back, it might have changed; and other jurisdictions (state and/or municipal) might have similar laws. I think it was this law that brought a lot of this stuff to the forefront a few years ago b/c two gay men contrived to be "caught" in the act in order to force the state to enforce the law so that it could be challenged in court. Without a charge against you, you would otherwise not have "standing" to challenge the constitutionality of the law.

Catholicism is twice "as popular" -- that's a strange choice of words.

For the record, I've really got no issues w/ same-sex marriage -- which is to say I'm indifferent. I'm not going to campaign for or crusade against. I think sex positions regulations stuff is hokum.

My denomination: Totally apathetic to religion so I can play freestyle with a clear concience.

But for the religious:

The non-ok positions are the ones that are the most fun.
The more fun they are the higher up the naughty list they go!

If you think that's bad, Alabama has outlawed dildo sales. No kidding! I'm close to the border. Maybe we can set up a smiggling ring.

When dildos are outlawed, only outlaws will have dildos!

Mule -- A "smiggling" ring? or is that a euphemism for masturbation?

I'm all for chicks smiggling, esp. if there's a videocam.

Smiggle on!

I dated an (East) Indian girl for a while. She would have given some poor Southen Baptist boy a heart attack. Unfortunately, my Stihl HS85 trimmer wasn't up to the task, so I never could really see where I was going...

Damn wide, that's just plain wrong - but hillarious!

I say anyting goes as long as it doesn't involve 480 Volt, 3 phase or barnyard animals.

Quoting my post from the abstinence thread:
"Christian Fundamentalism: The doctrine that there is an absolutely powerful, infinitely knowledgeable, universe spanning entity that is deeply and personally concerned about my sex life."
Two consenting adults can set their own rules. Those who want to regulate in the bedrooms of others need help and probably have a very sad and solitary sexlife.
My religious beliefs... sort of CofE, married to a very bad catholic with an irreligious daughter.
Same sex marriage...I think the time has come to redefine marriage as a life contract between two people, especially for tax and social security issues.

Isabo, you're European. Your remarks make sense, but are not consistent with my country's agenda.

Hey' I've got better examples. My brain must have been in the off position. How 'bout we criminalize both fornication (sex outside marriage) and also divorce. Those two practices are expressly, unequivocally forbidden in the Bible.

I'm waiting. Should these practices be made illegal under federal law? I want to hear an answer to this questions from every Pelicanhead who supports a national ban on same-sex marriage. I won't get it, but that's what I'm asking for.

Are the some such PelicanHeads? Mostly I have seen a "don't care attitude" around here.

I'm with Isabo....

(Although I went to school in England and live in Italy my parents were both yanks and I'm an American citizen, does that allow me a formal say?)

Fornication and divorce have been going on for a long time. Here in the good ol' USA and elsewhere. I do not think the vast majority of Americans want such a federal law, so we are not going to get it. Moot point.

Marriage on the other hand has been recognised the best place (not the only, but the best) place to raise children. So that bond has been given special status under the law, common practice and by religious institutions.

As for a "national ban", I think it is going no place quickly as most folks only see marriage as between one woman and one man of legal age, regardless of what might be going on here and there around the country.. What any "law" might say is not of great interest to them..

Based on what criteria? I'll betcha a donut that statistically, serial killers are more likely to be the product of a hetero coupling.

And dont worry about the serial killers. The breakdown of the family is spawning a lot more troubled young people who are more likely to cause you trouble. Statistically speaking that is..

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there has never been a serial killer who was the offspring of a homosexual coupling.
