Hotel/Resort recommendations - Scottsdale/Phoenix
This October marks 10 years since my wife and I said "I do". What a great 10 years it's been! To celebrate I want to take us away from our daily routines and spend 3 nights in a really nice resort. I was considering Napa Valley and Santa Barbara but now the Scottsdale/Phoenix area's are looking good too. I'm looking for rest and relaxation, good food, nice pools, spa, tennis, biking, etc... This will be a adults weekend meaning the kids stay with grandma. So, no holds barred, what hotels/resorts in the area do you recommend? I'm right now looking at a place called "The Boulders - Wyndham". We're looking for a place big enough to not have to leave the property for the entire time unless we wanted to explore.
I'm a FF with America West and thought I could find some good deals through them but nothing struck me. We will be flying from Carlsbad direct to Phoenix and will get a rental car. Thanks! |

FYI: We are right in the middle of "monsoon" season here in AZ, so it's not a completely desirable destination right now IMO. Unless you enjoy ridiculous heat, higher than normal humidity, rain, wind, and dust storms!

Eric, monsoon season is from when to when? If you're in the middle of it now what about mid October? Like the 16th - 19th? I'm hoping the temps have come down quite a bit by then.

The Phoenician is were Bush stays when it comes to the Valley . I would look into the Four Seasons at Troon. http://www.fourseasons.com/scottsdale/ its great area to relax and excellent service. Its in North Scottsdale , If you prefer to be near the city I suggest anything from Scottsdale Road & Chapperal Road to Scottsdale Road & Double Tree, so many resorts o pick from on that strech of the road.

The Marriot Camelback is pretty nice too, if you are looking for something a bit more low-key. IIRC there are golf and spa facilities on-site.
