The Senator must have gotten some bad intel.

Effin liar!

techweenie 08-20-2004 04:28 PM

Not much of a story there.

Maybe you guys need a better source than 'woldnetdaily.'

The Manchester Union Leader published a front-page editorial condemning Kerry for the distortion.

Tw your right not much of a story

Death by a thousand cuts, I say.

This story reminds me of the woman AlWhore USED during 2000...This woman he said he found collecting cans to pay for prescription drugs. Her name was Winifred Skinner and she was played like a Stradivarius in mourning...

ABC’s Terry Moran exclaimed: "This is the way campaigns are supposed to work. A candidate, a voters, and a big issue – the high cost of prescription drugs."

On CBS, Dan Rather declared: "She’s no child, but she belongs on a poster about high drug costs." As he explained that the Gore campaign had been hunting for an effective victim of Big Pharmaceuticals.

MSNBC’s Chip Reid was positively tingling: "This one was spontaneous, and wow, is it resonating." The message was not subliminal: you should be bowled over by this charming oldster and her can-collecting plight.

NBC’s Jim Avila – last seen wondering why the mother of Elian Gonzalez would sacrifice her life to leave Castro’s Cuban paradise – found the tender story of a senior citizen who lives, well, can to mouth: "A simple, sweet story, driving home what for seniors is shaping up as a cornerstone issue. A woman of dignity, walking her Midwest town to survive."

The only problem with the ebullient left-wing orgy was that Winifred wasn't the destitute victim of the evil Republicans and pharmaceutical companies that the media/DNC made her out to be....You see, Winifred didn't want any help or government program, as she was self-sufficient and her children were well-capable of providing for her if need be.

Winifred Skinner said, "No, no, I don't want the taxpayers to pay for my medicine...I'm a proud person and I want to earn it and I want to do it on my own. I don't accept charity and I don't get food stamps. I qualify, but I don't get them because I don't want the taxpayers to support me."

Yes, it was all a sham and she was proded into being a pawn by her union colleagues from the United Auto Workers (UAW)...She was an unwitting tool and it seems nobody is the wiser for it.

"A big enough lie, told frequently, will become the truth."

(methinks this exposee could inhabit two threads...nah)

That is what you get for buying stolen goods (see Sandy Bergler)

LOL!

You guys crack me up.

How many aluminum cans do you have to collect to pay for a $40 bottle of prescription drugs?

I'll give you a hint: a shopping cart full of aluminum cans is worth about $1.50 -2.00. So a really lucky urban scavenger could make, oh, nearly a buck an hour.

Ask most homeless people and they'll tell you they are 'self sufficient.'

Finding people who have difficulty affording prescription drugs is not particularly hard in America. Maybe some of you should chat up your older relatives on the topic.

It's hard to believe the neo-cons find themselves defending Americans (especially those on fixed incomes) paying more for prescription drugs than Canadians and Mexicans do, but I guess when you depend so much on money from the drug companies, that's the position you have to take.

So, Steve

What you are saying is there is not health service delivery problem in the US or that the Senator was misinformed.

Shall we review the misinformation the administration has given out over the last three years?

Naah..That's already been done. But of course those are all lies too.

Lies about lying.....

No sense, no sensitivity.....

SteveStromberg 08-21-2004 12:05 PM

Sure go ahead we are waiting

Didn't you criticise michael moore for using a newspaper EDITORIAL in his documentary as a source of information?

You conservatives sure are inconsistant with your complaints.

World Net Daily - All the right wing blog info thats unfit for news print.

Maybe 350's mommy will explain to him the difference between an editorial and a news story at his bedtime story tonight..... http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/shake.gif

350HP930 08-21-2004 01:38 PM

Perhaps you need to tell that to SteveStromberg.

Moneyguy1 08-21-2004 06:23 PM

Looks that way, Doc...Steve seems to have a problem with who and what he quotes as being "unbiased".

To be fair, so do others here.....

And Steve, you can wait until he!! freezes over. All of that info has already been posted re: positional changes by the administration over the past three years. I am not about to do the homework for another individual too intellectually lazy and too myopic to do his own analysis.
