Roger and me - Penske

Caught on Wide Track Drive in Pontiac at the Dream Cruise, he explained to us that he just doesn't get the Enzo out often enough - it was the first time he had driven it!

Poor Roger.
My old 1977 2.7 L five blade with thermal reactors did not like the stop and go traffic, so as soon as the temp's got over 210 I found a parking space.

I will post more Dream Cruise pictures, when I have the time.

Try here for now:

kach22i,

We were there early Saturday AM (8:00-10:30am) to avoid the bumper-to-bumper traffic. We started at 8Mile, drove North to Pontiac, then turned back and had breakfast in Birmingham (Spengo's). We enjoyed the day and Helga cooperated and didn't go over 200 degrees.

It was still cool in the morning, I had my coat on when I left the house. When it warmed up it warmed up quick.

My heat exchangers are shot, so the shop disconnected the hoses (which had holes in them) a while ago. There is no air cirrculation thru the heat exchanges, I think this is why it tends to heat up on warm days.

I am off to Milford/ Milford road (North), just off of I-96 and Pontiac Trail. There is a strip mall across from the Dairy Queen. Every Sunday a couple of hundred cool cars get together. Several Porsches typicaly show up too. Hope to see you around, my license plate is "KACH22I" kind of hard to miss me.

Kach22i,

That sounds great, maybe I'll be able to get up there next Sunday! Have a great week!!

BTW, I have the 11 blade fan as well as the Carrera-style oil cooler mounted in the passenger front fender. My car stays well below 240 degrees except when I sitting in traffic on the hottest summer days. I usually stay below 200 degrees.

About 9 months ago, while visiting my folks out in Boca Raton, a black Enzo did a fly-by on my mother and I in their yellow 996. We tried to keep up but he was really cooking.

One word to describe a black Enzo; Batmobile.

I typicaly stay below 200 degrees as well.

I have never been higher than 230, and then that was just for a short peroid. You see, I peaked at 140 mph with the targa top off and both windows rolled down on a hot day. It took 5 or 10 minutes of driving at 60 mph in 5th gear to get it below 210 again.

240 is way too hot (extended peroid) for a 2.7 from what I've read.

Actually looks more like one of the sports watches. Submariner or a GMT.

Iggy, I have seen you drive a few times on Main Street in Ann Arbor................drove along side of you once and nodded. Your car is in great condition, I like it.

Have you seen that white and orange 914 around town? That's a cool car but in a different way.

If you see my silver 1977 911 targa with phone dials, give me a wave.

RE PIC's:
Like Homer Simpson would say DOOOOOOOOOOONUTS. ............where is this going?

Dream Cruise Saturday, I had to have lunch with my in-laws, but my buddies from AutoWeek got to sit with some Grid Girls because of overcrowding.
