a Porsche owner is overly “serious,” not a swinger, and has a “limited sense of humor”

and specifically about swinging info.. what do you want to know about orgies? I have historical Hard data relating to the pre-aids era. |

maybe you could bet that after I check out her eyebrows and skin color that I can correctly guess what she looks like and smells like where it's important.. what a trip. |

Yes, a great Toddism -- the XKE owners were regarded as swingers by the C&D author....
|
Yeah, those XKE drivers were always out collecting 'crumpets' ... between brake rebuilds, back in '69!!!

That's "strumpets" to hold the test light, not "crumpets". . .
|
I have always wondered about that -- H. Manning is quoted -- repeatedly -- as saying crumpets. Crumpets are little British pastries. Strumpets might be more fun to collect (if disease free) but that isn't the quote.
Maybe crumpets is (or was also) British slang for female hominids? Anybody have a 1960's British slang dictionary??? |
Clearly pre-COWbell analytical data.

Curt, where did you get that? You always seem to have the most unique pics! LOL

Crumpet Noun . Sexually desirable person. E.g."The club was bursting its walls with crumpet." {Informal}. As to whether I swing or not, It really depends on how warm it is. |
Thanks Ron,
Since I just landed a job in rural America I am looking forward to cheaper rent! Hell, I might just buy finally! Seriously though, Curt does seem to have some unique pics to just about any post. Now if I could only get 'em to send me those pics from the Glen... --James |
That guy looks just like the salesman I saw Sat. when I had to pick up a couple of parts.

So, a Priest, Rabbi, and Minister walk into a bar. The bartender walks up and says, "What is this, some kind of joke?"
|
I wouldn't be surprised if buyers of new Porsches are also overly serious with a limited sense of humor.
|
SInce this has gotten so much "technical" interest... here is more of the quote:
The “Porsche image” is “serious. The driver will take himself and his car … damned seriously…. [He] will have no more than a limited sense of humor. Especially concerning Porsches. … slightly insecure … likely to be possession-proud. A car for the technician, rather than the engineer, if you get the distinction.” -- Road & Track, June 1969, p. 58, from a comparison test of the Porsche 911T, Corvette, Jaguar E-type and Mercedes 280SL “Four Luxury GTs.” The other makes’ owners were characterized as follows: Jaguar E-type: Class, Dignity, owner is sophisticated in his tastes, one that swings, but with dignity, probably doesn’t know much about engineering Corvette: Plastic, flashy, lots of eye-catching angles and gimmicks; personality of owner is “the Animal” Mercedes 280SL: Square, even dull and... "Judging by the car you have chosen, you are motorist of a special breed…." – from 911 Owner’s Manual BTW, apparently I can't fix the spelling error in the title of this thread via the edit button(?) IT just galls the perfectionist in me.... |

How the He11 did they ever let me in the door.....and that explains alot about my problems with that certain unmentionable Gruppe ......a guy with a stick up his a$$ has more of a sense of humor than they do, and sophistication...LOL the monkeys in the zoo throwing ***** at people have more sophistication than the Gruppe does...
