Unfit for Command
 

Since I intend to vote for John Kerry before I vote against him. I decided I'd pick up this oh so contravercial book. Easier said than done. I called "no *****" every book store in town. One tells me they're expecting "a few" on Friday. I ask them to hold one for me. The girl tells me that people call all the time for the book & she's never seen anything like this before (lack of distribution). I call on Fri, no book. Fri nite they call back, got one for me. Sunday I hop in the trusty 928 & cruise out to Books a Million. There is more anti-Bush crap in the place than at a Michael Moore fried chicken eating contest, & my lone Unfit for Command. Now Hillary's book, It Takes an Imbecile (to beleive all that crap my husband says) was printed by the boxcar load, even though nobody was buying it. Something rotten in bookland?

It's listed as Amazon.com's #1 seller. My father wanted to buy a copy locally and found out that none of the national book chains will display the book. You can usually get it if you ask, but it will not be displayed.

My dad said the sales person at Borders books reluctantly sold him a copy kept in the back but he was questioned as if he were buying "The Terrorists Guide to Bomb Building". People take this stuff way too seriously.

I'm going to go try to buy it tonight - we'll see what happens...

It was on a big display in the local B&N last time I dropped by. Big stack of 'em on a table, even. Seems like there was one major display and several minor ones. Weird.

Same thing here. Tons of copies at the local Borders. No secret password required.

The local store here only got 3 copies sent to them. (not happy about the low count either) They kept them behind the counter.
