why are some people so stupid.............

today i was pulling out of the auto-teller lane at my bank, right in front of me i see a 3-4 year old waddling through the parking lot and some lady almost hit him.
she jumps out of the car and picks up the child........turns out the child was following moms car which had just pulled out of the bank and was sitting in traffic after leaving her child behind...........
the lady who picked up the child ran towards the mom with the child.
the mom gets out of the car and sticks the kid in the back seat (no baby/toddler seat either) yells at the nice lady and speeds off.
i handed the moms plate number that i jotted down to the hero lady who had jumped on her phone.

what kind of person just forgets their child in a possibly dangerous location?
i don't have kids so this just baffles me and the only conclusion i can come up with is that the childs mother just didn't care or is a very very stupid woman...........
what should we do with these people?
has society forgot what's really important? or is it just a random occurance?

Sadly there was some familiy near me in NoVa that had like 11 kids. The dip**** dad left one at the videoclub once. The next time, he left one of the older ones in charge of getting the younger ones out of the hot van and into the house. Needless to say, the little one died in the hot van. The dad didn't go to jail b/c who would care for the kids??

This raises another important point - why the **** would you NEED 11 kids????

You need a license to drive, file nails, cut hair, and push a hot-dog cart.

No test or exam to procreate. Tragic part of the whole thing is that it's the toddler who ends up screwed up as a kid cause of the mom's failure to be a mom.

"Stupid is as stupid does Jen-nay".

There was a guy who forgot his toddler was in the car a few months ago. He went to work, parked the car and a few hours later the kid was dead from the heat. Everybody makes mistakes, but how can one be so engrossed in their work or day to day activities to forget (for several hours!) that you forgot to drop your child off and left him in the car?!

Edited...what I said came out entirely wrong.

It's a shame that people are *********s.

OMG. I just had a son (he's 9 months now) so I'm "extra-sensitive" about this stuff. But what is with people? How can you not value your kid more than you value yourself?

Well said.

It's sad. There's no real answer or solution.

Bell, my Man, I hope you do have kids some day. It's clear that your heart is in the right place. You will be a fine Dad and there can never be too many of those.

Actually that kind of parental negligence is criminal in most States and the parent should be reported. Disregarding the parking lot stupidity, the proper use of child seats is required by law these days.

The child would have been better off had the mother left for good. I can't imagine a foster mother or father being any worse. As far as the mother is concerned, if she is truly negligent, the solution is simple. Have her tubes tied. Nip it in the bud!
