PG2 - Nurburgring time?
 

I have a wait before I get my xbox live account running again, so I am looking to see what times people are posting in the 73 RS around the Nurburgring? At the moment my best is a 8:18:264 and I know I can cut that down quite a bit as I made a few mistakes in key sections. So post your times here!

On the PC, my best was only 9:50 in grand prix legends. Only half bald so far. I'd love to drive the real thing.

I'd love to drive it again in my own car. And by myself, so I didn't feel like I was putting someone elses life in danger.

Driving the 'Ring in a car is a bit like riding a motorcycle on the streets of L.A. You know in the back of your mind that death is only one wrong or inattentive move away.

I would have to go look but, pretty close to where you are Smitty. Must be nice relaxing at home.

an all-but-confirmed rumor has it that the next version of Gran Turismo will have the 'Ring as one of its tracks. It will be tough to compare b/c there are no Porsches, but there will be some older ruf cars to play with. I'll get back to you then.

BTW: do you have to win a lot to get the RS and access to the track, or can you just pop the game in and select the car and track? Wondering whether I should give this game a try.

Dave, I don't remember because I played the game quite a bit last summer...but it's not too far up the chain to get the 73 RS. The Ring is fully open in the track challenge mode, and I think that it's that way from the start. The highest level car I have aquired is the GT1...I posted a 6:05:145 in that baby!

nothing special Bro, I use the standard controller. I do have a wheel but it's even harder than the controller. I did a few laps last night but was only able to post times from the 8:15:121 to 8:20's...I know we can get into the 7's for sure if you make a clean mistake free lap!

what I did wrong:

right after finishing the first lap, I left off the gas thinking it was over. It cost me 1/2 second
I hit the grass for a sec and cost me 3/10 ths of a second maybe
I did that one more time costing me about 3/10 ths of a second

don't feel bad, I have 300 hours on this game.
I always play online and I very rarely lose.
I have beaten it on single player in platinum and have a kudos online rank of 31 (into the multi-millions)

I'm breaking down and picking it up during lunch. Even if I don't do well, I'll have a leg up on my Gran Turismo friends by knowing the track...

Dave it's not EASY.. I AM NOT SURE WHAT Smitty and the others are doing.. I have some clean runs, and some faster runs with a few mistakes... but man they are posting FAST times.. in the 73RS.. I will get my times down there aswell but it will take a day or two.
I wanna race someone on the BBS.. I think the comp and having someone behind you will pressure a mstake and I can take the lead! hahahah!

From Gran Turismo, and DE's, it's apparent you *really* need to be able to visualize each and every corner to be really quick. If you're still guessing or unsure which corner is next, then there's definitely room to cut down your times.

Are they putting on stickier tires? Different susp set up?

8:13:051 is my new best...I know I can shave seconds and get into the 7's, but man it's not easy! Eric just keep at it and watch the split times...this is where I am able to improve a section at a time and in the end it adds up.

Dave..that is not an option on PG2...kinda like IROC we are all running the same setup.

I played in 2 player mode the whole time against my buddy, so I didn't unlock anything yet.

How do you unlock the "Ring?

Tyson the ring is unlocked already in Time Attack mode...so you can enjoy it right off the bat.
