Scott Peterson case...

Prosecutors: Dogs find Laci Peterson's scent at marina
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/08/31/peterson.trial.ap/index.html

wouldn't it be a tragedy for the family if this asshho got off because this was such a high profile case?
thousands of husbands kill their wives across the country every year and get convicted on much less evidence than this.....what a media circus.

The prosecution is doing a poor job on this one, straying far and wide and getting caught without their facts straight.

Did you see the dork they bounced off the jury? He was all ready to acquit & go partying with Petersen.

i know who you're talking about. i saw a few interviews with him...he was saying there is no evidence to convict the guy, yeah right. anyway, that's one less dork to worry about.

The sad truth is no district attorney's office can go toe-to-toe with the high-priced defense attorney elites. They don't have the resources or the legal talent. Not in L.A. (OJ who?), not in Colorado (slam dunk for Kobe), and probably not in Northern CA either. Sometimes the guilt/innocence thing just gets totally lost.

Innocent until proven Guilty. Clearly he's much worse than a cad...but...still. Innocent until proven guilty; thus I'll make no judgement and from the evidence I've seen via the media (bastards) I would not be able fo convict him - it isn't enough and it's all circumstantial so I'm not swayed beyond a reasonable doubt.

I think far too often we forget - innocent until proven guilty. Just ask GWB about the concept...

techweenie 08-31-2004 08:15 PM

Innocent until proven guilty is a doctrine applicable to those in authority.

It really doesn't apply to anyone else. I disagree with your assessment. He's as guilty as OJ.

Of course, here in El Lay, we get daily reports from the courtroom and have a ton of background on the guy.

Bailing out of candlelight vigils for your dead wife & child to make lovey calls to your girlfriend, telling her you're in Paris is a bit more than 'cad' behavior, IMHO.

the media has all but hung the dude. personally i think the dickhead did it, but i only know what i see in the news, and that aint enough. i would hate to be on that jury. you are not going to see the light of day for months.

i am not paying attention to either this case or the kobe case.

He obviously was set up by wealthy black policemen.

Somebody once said something like:

"Justice is an occasional byproduct of the legal system."

Ghey Davis (no relation thank gawd) screwed up the judicial system too? Put him on trial in Texas, we have an express lane straight to death row.
