NEVER believe football "experts"
Pre season rankings have LSU as number 4 in the nation. Count me among those who thought LSU would enjoy a rout over the "Meager Beavers" of Oregon State University...As I post this, it's halftime...a lot of game to go. But the current score? Meager Beavers 9, LSU zip! I never bet on football, but I'm thinking there are more than a few in Baton Rouge who did...and they have to be a bit nervous right now...

Sloppy wet field, 3 running backs who could start anywhere in the country, and LSU is throwing the ball every down.
. Tiger defense looks slower than last year. Not taking anything away from Oregon State, their defense has been great. Very fast team. GEAUX TIGERS!!!! Last edited by Shuie; 09-04-2004 at 06:08 PM.. |

Seriously, Sherman...a halftime score of 42-0 wouldn't have surprised me...with the Beavers behind! I am in total shock as I listen...no cable here. But "sloppy wet field"? Ohhh, folks in Oregon are used to that!
If the Beavos luck out & pull this off, it'll be the upset of the decade. I really don't expect the lead to last...I mean, the BEAVERS? Gimme a break...they finished in the lower half of the PAC 10 last year...everybody's doormat.

LSU needs to run the ball to win the game. Randle is not a drop back passer. The Kentucky thing he pulled off as a freshman was one of the great moments in college football history, but it was a miracle.
The Beavers have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I hate these games. The only consistent thing about LSU is that they never do what they are supposed to do. |

Sherwood, "insider" info for you...Derek Anderson's nickname...the Beaver's QB is aka "The Moose from Scappoose". Scappoose is a tiny Oregon town. 3rd quarter just ended..now 15-7 . This gives me hope for the really important game in these parts...the Beavers just might beat the Ducks later this year? Just keeping it close with a team like LSU is a victory for the Corvallis kids...

Congrats to LSU...winning 22-21 in O.T.
! Just maybe some of those who say the PAC 10 sux will think about it a bit after this one? I can't remember The Beaver's win/loss record last year, but it wasn't that great...slightly above 50%? I do know they got creamed by USC...wasn't even close. Anyway Sherwood, have a good night, okay? I'm doing okay here...a few miles East of Corvallis, home of the Beavers, who definitely beat the spread...whatever that was.
