JFK Deals "The Race Card" Early

I know. You can bet the ranch on it every election season - eventually, every Democrat candidate deals out the race card. JFK played it a bit early this time.

Did I miss something here? When, how, and where did the Republicans "allow another million African American votes to go uncounted in this election". Huh? That statement borders on psychotic. If it were made by Bush, the unbiased national media would crucify him!

On second thought, JFK has been consulting with the "first black President" the last couple weeks ..... maybe Clinton advised him on this .....

Of course he is not really saying that Republicans are going to eliminate African American votes to ensure a win, just as Cheney ( "It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States." ) is not really saying that if people vote Democrat Osama will get them & if they vote Bush they are safe.


Fresh mud anyone? 2 months to go & we probably can't expect any discussion of actual issues from either party.

JFK is specifically stating that Republicans allowed 1 million Afro-Amer votes to go uncounted in some previous election. I'm just trying to figure out what election he's taking about and, more importantly, how they pulled it off.

Well thats certainly what he is implying. Thats not what he actually said though. "Another million votes" on top of what? 1 million votes? 10 votes? 1000 votes? 5 million votes? 53 000 votes of 'felons' that never committed a crime?

I never heard about these uncounted African American votes last time. The uncounted old people votes, yes. An African American lady in my office mentioned this in the standard "election was stolen" speech last week. I was all like the bottom of John Walker's signature "uhhh, uhhh."

I was about to accuse her of spending too much time reading junk on the internet....then again that would be like the old pot/kettle conundrum.

What a democratic leader says is wrong with the current democratic party:

The special-interest groups have come between the Democratic Party and the people. The party is no longer a link to most Americans. Each advocacy group has become more important than the sum of the whole. It is a rational party no more. It is a national party no more. So, bang the drum slowly and play the fife lowly, for the sun is setting over a waiting grave.

As much as I deplore my party's reputation for sucking up to...left-leaning special-interest groups, there is another rip in our heritage, in our image, that I regret even more. I fear some of the Democratic presidential candidates are treading on very dangerous ground for the party, and, more important, for the country. I do not question their patriotism; I question their judgment. They are doing what politicians often do, playing to the loudest, most active and most emotional group of supporters, feeding off their frustration while clawing to find some advantage. I've done it myself and lived to regret it.
