Thank You Fidel!!

It's about friggin' time. Now if we could just get a couple hundred more countries to adopt this attitude .......

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040914/D85366600.html

"Castro vowed not to accept any hurricane aid from the United States. "We won't accept a penny from them," the Cuban leader said.

"The hurricane before this they offered $50,000, an insignificant amount," he said referring to aid the U.S. government offered after Hurricane Charley. "Even if they offered all that was necessary - $100 million, $200 million, we would not accept. We can recuperate on our own."

I can't believe he's still alive, let alone still in power. Hope he's gone soon so the country can revert to what it was 50 years ago, at least before I retire.

I was hoping Ivan would hit Cuba Full on. IMO it would of lead to the fall of Castor. I can wait to get my familys property back in Santa cruz de Sur.

Just watching this Military leader wanabe fool is almost comical. But as we all know it's sad how he drags Cuba through the gutter they're in.

How people are behind him is beyond comprehension.

Before Castro..it was Organized Crime that virtually ran the place....Meyers Lansky was one of the big investors/owners in Cuban Casinos. Southern Florida was known for years as Lansky Land.

The mob was even able to get Joe Kennedy to promise to get Cuba back from Casto and the Communists if they would support JFK in 1960.

Well with the proliferation of gambling in the USA , I don't think Cuba will ever regain the allure it once had...

Interesting you say that. All I know of pre-Castro Cuba is, oddly enough, from what I saw in the first Godfather movie; that plus the stories from seventy-plus-year-old men and women who visited the island before '59. It was like the Hawaii of the East Coast, etc.

Castro is on his last legs from all I hear. The nights of sin, cigars, boozing it up, have taken his toll on the bastard. Cuba will come back - it'll just be chaos between Trump, Wynn and Hilton. Hell, did you know some crazed Iraqi is planning a resort in Bagdad right now? This just tells me the American dollar supercedes all governmental ideology. And, of course, that we and the ROW can't have enough resorts.

Everything else aside, he has to be the greatest survivor the world has ever seen. The biggest superpower in the world, (us), are his enemies ~50 miles away, no more commie superpower protecting him, all of the Cuban mafia in Miami hating him just a stone's throw away, etc...

It really boggles the mind.

I know he quit smoking cigars several years ago. His doc said quit or you'll die soon. Ba$tart is resilient indeed.
