Ivan on his way to the Gulf Coast

Good luck everyone. Keep your powder dry.

Thank God that one finally missed us. Good Luck Louisiana!

I just looked at the latest satellite pics. I has just taken a slight turn N-NE, away from Louisiana. It looks like New Orleans might get REALLY lucky. (Yes, I am a weather geek.)

I'm just leaving my house boarded up till the season's over. I think we might get to hurricane Zoe this year! Looks like Alabama loses this time.

Eagle Keeper 09-15-2004 01:02 PM

I'm glad my Porsche garage is built to hurricane codes!!!! I'm sitting here wondering how much longer I'll have power!!!!!

...and now there's Tropical storm Jeanne that's strengthening and near Puerto Rico... Is it going to end?

jason we wish you all the luck. Please stay safe buddy this one is a killer.

Eagle Keeper 09-15-2004 04:27 PM

I'm still here! For now, I'm sure the power will be out by morning. There have allready been 2 deaths from tornados within 30 min of my house!! The wind are really getting strong now!!

Thanks for the good thoughts!!

North Coast Cab 09-15-2004 04:35 PM

The power of the storm is really unbelievable. We've got a place down in Grand Cayman and though they haven't seen much media coverage the island is a disaster. Here are a couple of URL's describing first hand experiences of those still there.

Our place was a three story complex second from the beach and they received 2-3 feet of water on the second floor.

Good luck to all!

John

been here 20 years and never boarded up. i have now been semi boarded up for 4 weeks straight now. i hear this is just the beginning of a new 13 - 15 year cycle. i guess i should paint my plywood the same color as the house! frances was just a TS here and it was unnerving enough ..you are probably shiettin about now. keep us posted while you can and when it is passed.

targa911S 09-15-2004 04:41 PM

north coast..I may be back home sooner than planned! Looking in Berea. just hate to move in the winter. if this keeps up i might not have to sell ..just get a check from state farm!

dd74 09-15-2004 05:20 PM

You guys hunker down and stay safe. Thoughts are going out to you from Earthquakeville...SmileWavy

targa911S 09-15-2004 05:36 PM

i wish I had a buck for each time I've said or had some one say to me, "stay safe" in the last 4 weeks. never had that happen in past years. people in this state are gonna need therapy for a while. everybody here is pretty spooked. at least in LA you don't see it coming. imagine turning on your TV every night for a week and having them say "It's coming..it's almost here" and then go to film of the destruction you're in for! talk about messin with your head.

pwd72s 09-15-2004 08:53 PM

Hurricanes in Florida...brush fires & Quakes in L.A. Man, I dunno...just wishing everybody well. SmileWavy

targa911S 09-16-2004 04:55 AM

OK Jason it's morning...storm should be well by you by now. Are you OK? Give us a nod here.

Eagle Keeper 09-16-2004 04:58 AM

We made it so far! There is still a lot of wind! And we are under a tornado warning, again. But the house is still here and I'm very lucky to still have power!

Shuie 09-16-2004 05:06 AM

Thats good news. I hope everybody else is ok.

We got very lucky. It hasnt even rained.

RickM 09-16-2004 05:49 AM

12 people killed in LA. I'me hearing the worst is yet to come w/ 15" of rain.... Stay dry guys!

targa911S 09-16-2004 08:34 AM

Glad you a Sherman are OK. Thought about you a lot last night. I work for the nespaper here that is sister to the TV station (NBC) here,. We are starting to see that wreckage now. It's pretty ugly. I can't believe you both still have power. At least the bad part has passed you. Keep us in the loop.
