Who Here Gives A Wet Fart About the NHL Lockout?

The title of this thread probably conveys my sentiment. I just wish it was tree-hockey we "risked" losing.

Never could get into Hockey. Seems to me the vast majority of goals are scored off of someones skate or leg or whatever. Make the net bigger and I might watch. I played hockey a couple years ago and had a ball, but I wouldn't punish anyone by making them watch.

I have a hard time watching ice-soccer or field-hockey, just plain boring.

I don't give a rats a!! about the NHL. In fact, the only professional sport I watch anymore if football and that's only if there's nothing better going on.

I LOVE to watch international hockey on the other hand. Players playing only for pride and their country. Not a business. This year's world cup that finished Tues. was fantastic to watch.

I grew up with hockey and still play. An in-depth knowledge helps make it entertaining.

We go to the games when the tickets are free (LA Kings @ Staples) but beyond that...My coworker has season tix he pays a small fortune for (on the floor and all).

I personally couldn't care less as long as the don't try to beat me up.

i have been to a number of shrks games here in san jo and the game in person is really cool. TV can be a hard sell for the way the game is played.

My number one question to myself: does it put zeros on my paper statement?
Nope? Couldn't care less then about NHL, nor the Hilton girl workin' it.

Aren't the NHL players suing each other for "emotional intimidation" by the very evil way they stare at each other during face-off?

I'd be a hockey fan if I lived in Michigan. We have a minor league team here, but it just cant be the same as watching the Red Wings or the even the Wolverines play

It's a religion if you're a Wings fan.

If they cannot play an entire season then they may as well scrap the whole thing. I can see how some see the regular season as pointless. I suppose they are just casual fans but to me, that is what makes the Stanley Cup so special. Some 100+ games from start to finish for the eventual winner.

If the leauge holidays until February and then settles with the players to jam in 40 game mini season (ala 1994) the Cup winner will not be the same in my eyes. I'd rather them all sit and sulk at home for the year and make it right for 2005/06.

As a So Cal transplanted ex Detroiter, I care less and less about hockey every day. I guess the sun and beach have a way of doing that to you, just ask Sergei.

In Detroit, the Red Wings are everything....and the lockout is devastating. In fact, the headline in the Detroit News yesterday was about how much the local economy will lose as a result of the lockout.

Dont get me wrong...I still love the game, especially the playoffs...however as someone noted above, there are many lucky variables such as a bad puck bounce that cost teams games.

Ill never lose my passion for Michigan Wolverine Football though....good or bad, even when they lose to crappy ND.

It will be missed like any sport in my opinion. I will miss the fights and the suite (my company occasionally took us).
