Kerry/Bush debates aside
, I have found the Pelican BBS to be the most well-informed, civil, and generous online community on the 'Net. I am always amazed at the ability (and willingness) of the Pelican members to answer even the most rediculous and obscure questions - and never with a hint of condescension. In fact, having participated in a number of other bulletin boards, I have consistently found myself exiting in utter disgust and returning here for a breath of fresh air. So may I ask if anyone else has had the same experience or if there are other boards of similar caliber out there that others have tried?

For getting your technical questions answered, this place can't be beat. I wander over to Rennlist, Turbo911, 911Turbo, and C2Turbo sometimes, but the traffic is very slow compared to PP.
If you're looking for off-topic fun, one that I stumbled on when I was planning to buy a Subaru is the NASIOC off-topic forum. It's a younger crowd, and it is really a kick. There is a huge generation gap between them and me, I guess, because I don't understand some of the words or even sentences. But it's witty and smart in a different way. Also, they don't seem to have as many zealots over there - not that I mind zealotry.

These three are good for those who like metalworking like I do:
The Home Machinist Forum: http://www.chaski-test.com/ubb/ubbthreads.php The Home Shop Machinist: http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/ubbs/Ultimate.cgi? The Practical Machinist: http://www.practicalmachinist.com/ I also like rennlist every now and then but my "home" is the Pelican board.
