I am trading in the porsche on this classic

I thought the porsche was a money pit. I always wanted to own the #1 lemon car in the world.

Only 1800 miles, a car that is needed in every collection.

Well that Yugo certainly does appear to be outstanding in it's field.

Parts store customer: "Got a new gas cap for a Yugo?"

Counter guy: "That sounds like a fair trade."

I say you should hold out for one of the rare Yugo convertibles. There was a low-mileage one on ebay a couple years ago; he was trying to get $20k!

I always have to laugh at the spare tire being right next to the engine..

Michael,

You will have the tail end on the Porsche runs with that. I am sure it corners well.

Okay, I have been talked out of it. I hope this isn't going to be one of those I should have stories.

I wonder just how bad they really were. Were they any worse than the other $8.00 cars of the era, like a Ford Fiesta or a Fiat?

Someone is going to get a brand new car for maybe $3500-$4000. Not bad, IMO.

I had a 20 minute conversation with my girlfriend about this car. Tell me you wouldn't drive it.

The Yugo parts counter is you own backyard. Collectors seem to hoard parts cars because parts have not been available for many years. I think most of the car was made from decommisioned Fiat tooling.

This is what the Yugo factory looked like after Clinton dropped the bombs in 1999. Many workers were killed.

Dude buy it. That car needs to survive.

they weren't anywhere near as bad as their reputation. Most just suffered from Financially Challenged Owner Syndrome (FCOWS)

What about that 2-stroke thing out of East Germany, the Trebant or something? Or the Soviet era Lada? Sell the P-car and get one of each!
