Anyone see "Lost"?
If you didn't catch "Lost" last night at 8:00 pm, it was great. 50 people stranded on a island with a faceless monster. Very intense. I highly recommend you check it out.

terry, i dont watch much TV, and the ad perked my curiosity. HOLY CRAP! i am hooked! WTF is going on? it better not have one of those twisted endings, like it is a hoax or something.

Its one of my shows. Written by J.J. Abrams the producer of "Alias" The way its written, they can take many, many twists and turns as the episodes unfold. Depending on ratings, they can go different directions with the show.

Definitely worth seeing. It was pretty awesome last night. Sooooooooo many different ways they can take the plots and develop each character....
Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have a winner!!! DING DING DING!!!! Randy |
Great show. I downloaded the pilot several months ago and was hooked by it. I Tivoed it last night and look forward to seeing the finished product. Can't wait to see the rest....
BTW, Hugh, how is the Herbie shoot going? I have read that a certain starlet has been having a hard time making it to work in the mornings. |
Is the monster going to be realistic though, that's my question. Apparently, the monster is huge in that it can rustle large palm trees and deposit dead pilots at the top of other trees.
The previews showed another interesting twist for next week. It alluded that there were others already on the island. I killed myself getting home to see this pilot. Looks like a great show. With 50 people there is plenty of opportunity for characters to emerge also. So different from Gilligan's Island where there were only seven and everyone was celebate - except maybe for the Skipper and his little buddy - just kidding!!! |
A pic from the pilot of "Lost" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1095964945.jpg
What you hear about a certain starlet I can't say. But others speak the truth |
Tell us about the shoot.
Did the production Co. buy an old plane out of Arizona and cut it up, or was all the built for the shoot? I can't imagine maintaining all that stuff on the beach for continuity or from just rotting etc after just laying there for months of shooting. Thanks for the picture from your various shoots. They are really cool to see. |
I see that "Oceanic Airlines" got some new graphics/corporate ID . . but I dunno . . . they still seem to have lots & lots of implausible disasters. ;)

Its a good thing JJ has a new show cuz' the network about killed Alias last season running 2 episodes and then nothing for a month while this and that award show was on with other garbage in between...
|
I hope the monster is not a freaking dinosuar!!! The airplane cockpit scene reminded me of Jurasic Park 3.

Are they going to run it again this week...I missed it.

We chopped up an L-1011 at the Palmdale airport and shipped it by barge to Honolulu. Placed it on the beach for the pilot. The beach is up near Dillingham Field/Schofield Barracks on the NW corner of Oahu. Plane was then sort of reassembled and some mechanical effects added like a moving wing and dropping engine. The guy sucked into the engine was a stuntman pulled into the engine hole and the spinning turbine and explosion were CGI' in during post production. The plane was taken off the beach after a month or so, when we completed the pilot and warehoused. Most of it is not on a soundstage (warehouse) in Honolulu.
