274 HP AWD 6 speed Mazda 6???

Dang! Just got this from Mazda... for 2006 they're building a 274 HP, 280 ft lb of torque, all wheel drive, 6 speed Mazda 6! After a few months of living with our Mazda 3 I'm thinking this is going to be really good!

Hmm.. BMW lights and body, Dodge hood and grill, Honda rice spoiler, Subaru drivetrain...... all these cars are starting to look the same.

ditto on the grill, kinda ugly. This 6 uses the same four banger in the upscale 3, but with two turbos. Now someone needs to swap this 6 engine into a 3 for some real fun. Wait a sec. I have a Mazda3! (Evil Laugh)

I'd like to see it without the Mazda plate stapled to the front bumper. The two openings toward the side remind of the 996 Turbo bumper. The middle opening looks like it would be good for scooping up small children or road kill.

Mostly what I see in this car is Audi S4.

For a weekend driver, it would be looks/drivability/namesake/culture.
For a daily driver it would be milage/reliability/parts/storage. Looks wouldn't be a factor. Touche dd74:wave:

Hmmm, Ford owns Mazda, Mazda has a better warranty than Ford, I get a Ford discount. Might be a neat daily driver for the wife! Anyway I'm holding out in hopes of a AWD Focus WRC edition. Heck all the parts are off the shelf from Ford Europe.

For some reason Ford is not stepping to the plate, they start with the focus at the imports, then the guys where getting a lousy support and when Ford found out that the guys were installing honda crankshafts on their Racing Focus they pull the plug.
