Since this is an off topic board. Does any one out there own a Jack Russell? Mine is 16 years old and although she is 90 percent blind and can't climb stairs any more she still has life in her.

We've had Jack's most of my life...great dogs, especially with kids if you have the room to let them move.
I brought a Jack back from Australia in 1986 and bred her to a excellent dog in San Diego. I gave one of the litter to my sister...Maxine (Nostatic will get the reference) is still doing well at 16.
My current Jack is a pound-puppy we rescued. She is 11 and rules the farm as only a Jack can. Great family dog.

NOt to interrupt this mutual Jack Russel TERRIER adoration society...but I do Love Airdale Terriers....my girl is 9 1/2 years old and still bounces around like a puppy...however George is a gentle giant and is totally laid back....

My one experience with a Jack Russel is that they are very playful and lovable but extremely hyper. At least this particular dog was. He had a really annoying habit of chewing the furniture, completely destroyed a leather sofa. Had to give him away.

Jacks are great dogs to describe them best they are a big dog in a little dog’s body. They are tons of fun and great entertainment, but they do have a lot of energy. A person probably shouldn't own one if they can't commit time with them.
