Al Queda search after test driving a 911

this past Monday i flew down to Charleston, SC one way via Independence Air.

I was determined to buy this car as the dealer said it was concourse quality ('87 911). Well this dealer lived up to all used car dealers reps. and it turned out to be car that would need some work.

I bought a return ticket to Washington, DC (Dulles) and went to security check. The security lady directs me to the line on the left (hmmm, Why is everyone else going to the right?).

I had to take off my shoes and they were x-rayed. I was given a pat down. My carry-on bag was throughly searched. They also gave extra attention to my bare feet by using that metal detector on my feet.

I was also questioned what was my business in Charleston and why was I going to Washington.

I wasn't mad, I guess I was more humiliated as everyone going through the regular check was staring at me as they passed.

This was my first and last time trying buy a 911 long distance.

Yep...a one way ticket is a red flag. Tough break.

I helped a friend move so I got a one way ticket back to Dallas. I was also pulled aside;TSA needs to get a clue. I think just about every potential terrorist knows that you are going to get red flagged if you buy a one way ticket.

My bare feet (no socks) were also wanded (?). I guess they have to follow procedure

Same thing happen to me when I flew out to pickup my Cayenne ..... they had a 'special line' for me at the local airport. They were most interested in my Heuer Monaco watch though. They called in 3 security agents to examine the thing. After about 5 minutes, they asked why the watch wasn't working. Huh? Oh. They didn't know it was a stopwatch and the second hand doesn't move until the button is pressed .......
