Not in CBS' league
Actually, I reckon it's kinda funny in the "Communists for Kerry" case:
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_09_26.php#003551 http://www.dailyblah.com/ Two things to note before you get your panties in a knot: (a) I don't believe it is important (Fox News doesn't hide its bias most of the time) (b) I found this using google after I spotted the retraction on Fox News --> I don't make a habit of reading ANY blogs. |
Did you read it? Pretty funny huh? The poor sucker sent it to a friend as a joke...the friend thought it was a legitimate story and posted it on the web. Of course, unlike the Democratic blogs which are equally unbelievable...it was retracted immediately and withdrawn with apology. If it were an anti-Bush piece on another site...it would stay there and people would line up to swear it was true.

I shoulda put in my original post that I thought the apology was a good move.

A FoxNews pundit, not reporter, sends this letter to a friend as a joke, it gets posted accidentally, and FoxNews apologizes immediately.
AP News has a reporter on the ground at a Bush Rally who posts a story saying the Bush crowd booed when GWB gave his best wishes to Clinton. AP Doesn't apologize, but quietly edits the original story, TWICE. CBS used ___forged___ memos to invent a story to hurt bush. They were caught but denied it until the bitter end. Instead of being angry over being so obviously "duped", they're hoping the story will die, which it has. No real apology, it sounded like they were sorry... for being caught. Typical liberal apology. Kitty Kelly gets her slander piece plastered all over ABC, NBC, and the Today show three times. Swift Boat Veterans have gotten almost no coverage. Or if they do, they're always preceeded with some slanderous introduction. These are the most recent obvious cases of media bias. At least FoxNews can admit their mistakes. |
Have you noticed that See-BS has changed 60 minutes into a human interest show? Last night, Bill Parcells interview, and a story on 14th century Italian human remains being examined...from lies to softball. See-BS!
