The Ultimate Playoffs Thread
It's here
Six months. Thirty teams. One-hundred sixty-two games apiece. Red Sox sign Schilling. Yankees sign A-Rod. Clemens' return to greatness. Johnson's perfect game. Maddux gets 300. Johnson climbs the strikeout ladder. Bonds passes Willie Mays. Griffey is back!... Gagne's streak ends. Guererro's 9 RBI. Rolen and Pujols. Manny and Ortiz. Jeter's catch. Varitek punches A-Rod, Mueller hits a game-winner off Rivera. Nomar on the Cubs?!? Cabrera rejuvenates the Sox - Amazing August. Santana dominates. Braves come back, Marlins fall apart. ...Griffey is hurt. Again. 22-0 - Kevin Brown punches a wall. Bonds hits number 700. Expos are moving - return of the Senators? Ichiro breaks Sisler's record. Did I miss anything? Thirty teams... and only eight remain. Anaheim, Atlanta, Boston, Houston, L.A., Minnesota, New York, St. Louis http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096932709.jpg I think we all know where my allegences lie. Any predictions? First day of the division series we have: Mussina vs. Santana Schilling vs. Washburn Clemens vs. Wright Perez vs. Williams Clemens, Mussina, Santana, and Schilling all pitching on the same day. Does it get any better that that?!? My predictions: Santana over the Yankees, but Yankees win series. Schilling over the Angels, Red Sox win series. Clemens over Wright, Houston wins series. Williams over Dodgers, Cards win series. I don't want to make any jinx-causing claims beyond that... :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096933202.jpg |

You will be assimilated by Orange County's endless production of Disney-like franchises. ;) Should be a good series, I'm going to try to hit at least one of the play-off games with a studio client who's a rabid Angel's fan. it will be a good series
actually, anaheim scares me a lot more than the yankees do. The Angels are probably the most aggressive team in baseball, and if they had better pitching, I would be fairly confident in calling it an Anaheim/St. Louis World Series. The Yankees have no starting pitching... but then again they are the Yankees, and seem to have a horseshoe up their collective arses. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096941085.jpg |
