Cheney won edwards is zero....

I have outlined my thoughts about Mr Cheney before...to reiterate a bit...Cheney is like a Tiger tank...he just keeps on coming...Cheney is all preparation, he covers all his bases and knows how he is going to respond in any given situation...one thing Cheney lacks is imagination...


Edwards cracked during the debate showed fear and, panic.. Edwards now knows enough to be afraid of messing with Cheney...Edwards olive branch was his kind comments about Cheneys daughter before outilning the Democratic position...Cheny said, "Thank You" to Edwards and declined to make comment on the Dem's postion... After that the debate became boring..

Well, if you consider that Dick Cheney is reveared as this life long power house politician, Its kind of sad that a 1st term Senator could hang so close with Cheney on the foriegn policy portion of the debate. When it came to domestic issuse, many believe, including FOX news, the Edwards took control and came out ahead. (see below quote)

"analysis after the vice presidential debate Tuesday night concluded that Vice President Dick Cheney won the first half of the meeting, on foreign policy, while North Carolina Sen. John Edwards tipped the scales for Democrats on domestic issues.

So I think its a little misleading to say that Cheney "won", just imagine if Edwards had 30+ years in the govement.

Oh, and TABS, I am not trying to piss anyone off. Even though you and I have different views on many things, I do enjoy your posts as they are normally more eloquent and factual than this on.

I missed the first 1/2 hour, but have it on tape and will be watching it.

In the part I saw (most of it) Edwards kicked old Dick's butt.

Edwards had one brain fart where twice in a row he said Iraq instead of Iran.....................he who has not done this cast the first stone.;)

Cheney has been around since at least the Nixon administration, right? That's a formidable about of political experience to go up against. I wouldn't want to.

i find it amusing that both W and cheney keep talking about "war time president". would we be in a war if it was not for the calls they have made? they have created todays climate and now say that others could not handle what they have started? just amazing the logic they use.

There was a point in the debate that you could hear fear in Edwards voice, his hands were fidgeting and he tried to talk over Cheney during Cheneys time...When you come up against a man who shows absolutely no emotion and is taking no prisoners thats the feelings you get...Edwards maybe a good trial lawyer but he is certainily outclassed by Cheney...

Further C Rose had Dem Congressman Emaunel on his show, and when talking about the highly vaunted "PLAN" said that what Kerry intends to do is...

1. Because he is a fresh face the French and German in paticular will be willingly to get involved in Irwreck

2. That Kerry would put more troops in Irwreck even if it was for a short term

3. Kerry would seal the Irwreck Borders

4. Kerry would step up training of Irwreckies presumably using French and Germans to help

5. Kerry would set up a Summit to get our Allies involved and after they are involvled Egypt and India might help out....


To which the Ediitor of News and World Report basically laughed at the Congressman and said that the "PLAN" is NONSENSE...

First the Germans and French have their own Domestic Problems...who in their right mind is going to send troops into such a mess ...and they certainly aren't going to do it unless they get apart of the swag.

Two where is Kerry going to get the Troops and how much
more is that going to cost.

Step up Irwreckie training using ...as previously said France and Germany want no part of Irwreck, if the Bush administration could step up training they would do it..

Summits are worthless...merely photo op's...and to think India would come in..is to ignore their own problems with their Muslim population...

So what we could realistically expect form a Kerry Administration is more of the same .....

1. you are arguing that because Cheney is so good at what he does, and Edwards is a relative neophite . . .that Edwards did relatively good.

Sure Edwards is a smart guy, and so cute too, when he bats his eyes like a two-bit whore; but "good for a neophite" . .. Is that what we want in the guy who would be a heartbeat away from POTUS?

I'm liking the smart guy with 30+ years in politics.

2. "many believe, including FOX news .. " smacks of "well my dad sez . ..."

The reason I come to OT is not to get what ANBCBSFOXCN-news sez.

But you're right, Cheney won. Now, whether or not GW was watching Cheney give a clinic on how to debate, well...

The thing is that Cheney doesn't only have to debate Edwards (which he could do if he were strung up naked over an open fire with an apple stuffed in his mouth) but also Kerry as well from the preceeding Presidential Debate.

I thought Edwards had a couple of Bush-esque moments as in ‘OMG they didn’t tell me he might say that. WTF do I do?’
