Neat wheels to be found across the "pond"

This Lotus spotted on a recent trip to Scotland. I'm sure someone here can identify this work of art.

Always amazes me the huge difference in types vehicles commonly seen in europe vs. north america. Other than the odd Ford Focus, Porsche, BMW or Merc - most of the cars encountered are kinda alien to those of us from this side of the Atlantic.

I believe that's an elise.

I agree, that looks like an Elise

Agreed. It always strikes me how much smaller the passenger vehicles are over the pond than they are here. You rarely ever see a tank-size vehicle unless it's a delivery truck or something.

Rode with a student in one at my last track day - an amazing car for only $40k

I remember somewhere in a euro mag that some company had swapped a Type R motor and gearbox into it, and the car came alive from the 120hp it comes with from the factory. Supposedly pulled more Gs on the skidpad and outran a 911 Carrera on the track. A car that weighs less than 1900lbs with 200 something hp on tap (maybe more because UK Integras have more hp due to less restrictions) and 150 ft/lbs of torque must be a joy to drive with that mid engine rwd setup. Not to mention it screams to an 8600 redline?

I think the car cost $55k with the conversion done to it. Id like to get my hands on one..

I have an old 'Dream Cars' book that had a LOT of european cars in it (everything was listed in pounds for the currency) and many b+b Porsches and even a very cool Porsche 944 Wagon:eek: . I have to find out someway to scan them into here so I can post them up.

Yeah, an Elise - a cool car!

I see them pretty regularly here in the Newport and Irvine area.

Here's one I spotted last Friday at the Jamboree/Michaelson intersection. (Camera phone picture)

It's a much better looking car in real life than in pictures. Particularly in the brighter colors, like Signal Orange! That looked awesome. This silver one was a little drab.

I hope they depreciate like crazy. I like to buy one at the same price as those '90s Lotus Elans go for.

Same day, about 20 seconds earlier - another car you don't usually see in silver:

(I was just testing out my camera phone!)
