More Election Tampering: ABC Joins The Fun!
Can there be a doubt left in any reasonable person's mind as to the bias of the major US media?

You want meddling? Watch "Outfoxed" sometime.

The scary part is that 'news-fixing' by the liberal major media (ABC-CBS-NBC-CNN-NY TIMES-WASH POST-TIME-NEWSWEEK-ETC) has been going on for many, many years. While many people were aware of it, there wasn't much concrete evidence until the last few years. Luckily, we (the public) now seem to have people on the case - Dan Rather and Michael Halperin are just the tip of the iceberg.

The roll of the media is to gather and present as much information as possible, even a bit of the extremes, with an equal balance to material that could be construed as biased to a side of a political agenda.
I agree the "Bush notes" were somewhat politically misrepresented, and the story was rather blantently biased, but my opinion is there are rather few "left-leaning" stations. Everthing else is owned by Clearchannel-who's main objective is commercials and stories of puppies being saved from sewer drains. The fact that the FCC stomped CBS with the biggest fine in history smells of politically biased, Republican-party, big goverment. |
Kind of an oxymoron. Republican big goverment.
Notice I didn't say "right-wing", because that would mean lean-n-mean gov, lower taxes and balanced budget, sensible immigration, etc.... which I could identify with . I meant Republicans as in the "Bushies"- just like the "Clinties"- but with different jerseys. "Bushies" still believe in tax and spend, but the spend part is in overreached military campaigns which may take decades to finish, bailing out private corporations which have failed due to CEO corruption and incompetance, and expanding federal government programs selectively. "Bushies" don't like to talk too long about real problems such as personal privacy, health care, economic strategies, moral values, and long term national goals. Those coversations soon turn into the henpie bickerings of elder women SmileWavy |
Umm, you give Bush too much credit if you limit his overspending on military and only selectively overspending on the fed govt in general.
He's pretty much an equal opportunity spender. Hasn't veto'd a spending bill yet! |
Uhmmmm .. ..guys. ..
Not that I've ever spotted a spoof before. . . ..so, maybe I'm all wrong here  but did any of you guys click on the link The controversial internal memo obtained by DRUDGE  |

I think it is funnier that sheit on wood for sale. Just Brilliant on Matt Drudges part. Other news centers have picked-up and promulgated the story (but not the punch-line).
Freaking hysterical.:D So any bets on how long he keeps it there? My guess is he'll keep it there for the same length of time that the DNC keep the 60-minutes hit piece on their site. WE'lll see. :D |
Hey, john70t, I must disagree with the thought that the roll of media is to gather and present information.
Their true roll is to earn money. |
TV news organizations were put in place to address the FCC requirement of providing/allocating x-amount of time to Puplic Service Broadcast. (this was the deal they signed-up for if they wanted to use public air-waves)
Sure, they thought that it would be an expense . . it turned into a cash-cow. But I believe that the Puplic Service requirements still stand for OTA broadcasts. |
